Cherry-Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2012
I do not even like fruit pies but I would eat this one again and again. It's the best fruit pie I've ever made or had.

Pumpkin Gingerbread

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2012
It was okay. I don't know what I expected - maybe for it to be sweeter or spicier?? It was so moist so props for that but I found it to be kind of eggy tasting. I followed the recipe exactly except I did use the suggestion to lower the temperature and cook it a bit longer and my crust was not overdone. I would not make this again.

Brownies III

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2010
I would rate this lower if I could. I left out some of the oil as suggested and even with that change, they were an oily blob as a dough - you wouldn't even need to grease the pan, I swear!! After cooked, they looked like brownies but they were nearly inedible. Tasteless, unless you count grease. You'd have to ice these to make them better and even then, it's not worth it. I wish I would have listened to the reviewer that told me to move on to another recipe! Sorry!

Candy Corn Bark

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2010
Very easy but very sweet! This turned out beautiful, actually. I did both semisweet chocolate and white chocolate and even though I don't like white chocolate as much, it turned out much tastier with the cookies and candy corn. The milk chocolate was too sweet. This would be great for a party or as a gift. I didn't have problems with the cookies getting soggy at all. Great idea!

German Chocolate Cake Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2010
I used 1/3 cup of vegetable oil and 2 eggs. They turned out soft and delicious! I've liked other cake cookies better because they had a stronger flavor but it's great with the icing in between.

Carrot Apple Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2010
It was okay - I wouldn't serve it to someone I was trying to impress unless they loved carrot soup. I tasted it without the ginger and then with (as suggested by the reviewers) and the added ginger (1-1/2 tsp) made all the difference!! It really added a nice flavor and brought out sweetness and a little spice. At first you taste pure carrot, then sweet, and then spice. It's quite nice and very healthy and simple but I won't be making it again.

Balsamic Roasted Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2010
They were good but not great. I didn't have balsamic vinegar so maybe that would have added something. They were like normal, regular, roasted potatoes.

Super easy to make and delicious! I made them exact to the recipe. Very good! 5 stars! I ate two before they even cooled off.

Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2010
This was super easy to make and I loved that about it. It tasted sort of like a meatball. I asked for opinions and it was given 3 out of 5 stars. Not too great but not bad either.

Cake Mix Cookies VIII

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
These were fantastic and delicious! I cooked the first batch the perfect amount of time (about 8 minutes) - they didn't seem cooked all the way but they turned out perfect so even if they don't seem done, they are! They tasted like a brownie - chewy and soft. I added the suggested recommendations of 1 tsp vanilla and 2 Tbsp oil and they were perfect. I totally recommend this recipe.

Corn Dog Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
I didn't try one with the hot dog in it as I'm a vegetarian but I made one without the dog and it was so delicious! Moist and sweet and I will always use this recipe for corn muffins in the future.

Green Bean and Mushroom Medley

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
I used a real garlic clove and only put in the seasoning salt and they were still too salty! It was delicious though and I'll make it again with a bit less salt. I used canned mushrooms and green beans and it still turned out great.

Cream Cheese Ranch Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2009
I seriously will never make this again. It tasted purely like sour cream ranch dip. I tried to add pepper and more butter and even another potato to tone down the sour cream but it didn't work. The only thing good was the texture - very very smooth!

Best Chicken Ever

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2009
This was not the best chicken ever. It was okay - tasted like cornflakes and seasonings and most of all sour cream. Way too much like sour cream. The breading was good at least and it looked pretty! I added the ranch mix to the sour cream and let it set for a couple of hours as suggested but it was just...not great. Maybe I should have wiped the sour cream off before breading?

Black Magic Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
This is the first chocolate cake I've made that tastes like the box kind (which I prefer) but better. It was very good but did not stay moist after a few days.

Pig Pickin' Cake

I did not make the cake - I used a different pineapple cake recipe - but the icing was delicious!! It totally made the other cake so much better!!

Pineapple Mojo Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
I made it exactly as directed. It would be better with more of the pineapple brown sugar mixture at the bottom as that was the best part. It was a very refreshing cake - better than something out of a box but not as good as I expected. It took much longer to bake than in the recipe so maybe mine was a bit more dry because of this. I added a cool whip/vanilla pudding/pineapple mixture of icing and put it on top of the cake which made it even nicer.

Chocolate Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2009
This is the best chocolate dessert I have eaten in a very long time! I've not had any kind of cobbler before so I had no expectations. It was very much like hot fudge cake with a brownie base. I used 4 T. butter, all purpose flour with 1/2 tsp. baking powder and 1/2 tsp. salt, and cut the water down by a 1/4 cup and poured it sloooowly like suggested. I do not see how this would not turn out great for anyone! Both my boyfriend and I said *insert expletive* upon tasting it because it was so delicious and we normally don't say bad words! It's the best chocolate anything I have ever made! I served it with frozen whipped cream and it was heaven. I would give it more stars if I could.

Cheesy Baked Cauliflower II

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2009
I changed the recipe quite a bit but I was inspired by it! I used pasta sauce in a jar instead of the tomatoes and I added Italian bread crumbs on top of the cauliflower and sauce and then put cheese on top. I did not use butter. It was delicious! Like pasta exactly but without the extra calories. I could have made it even leaner with less cheese. It was excellent.

Incredibly Cheesy Turkey Meatloaf

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2009
I made this for my boyfriend who didn't like meatloaf and he liked this very much. He said it tasted like barbeque ribs. I did the suggested changes from the other reviews: I soaked the bread crumbs, added about 1/4c. worst. sauce, 1/8 tsp. onion powder, a shake of seasoning salt, and added a tsp. of brown sugar to the bbq sauce (instead of ketchup). I only made one pound of turkey meatloaf and had no problems at all with it overflowing the pan. It must have been good because it was all eaten within 24 hours!
