Classic Thanksgiving Dressing With Parsley, Sage and Thyme

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2008
My family loves sage stuffing in the turkey and sausage dressing baked in the oven as a side dish. This was a perfect sage stuffing. Stuffing gleans juices from the turkey and gets moist as it cooks. For this reason I cut the egg to just one and cut the chicken broth to 1.5cups. PERFECT!

Sausage Dressing

This stuffing recipe is delicious. I left out the orange and walnuts, and used sauteed celery and onion instead of the celery seed. Delicious!

Sweet Potato Pineapple Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2008
This recipe is wonderful. The light taste of the pineapple allows the sweet potato flavor to be revealed. If you're looking for something other than the cloying sugar taste of caramel or marshmallow for your sweet potatoes, this recipe is for you.

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2008
I'm giving this recipe four stars for ease of preparation. Although the result is a smooth texture dinner roll, the reminded us of the pop-can rolls you buy in the refrigerated case at the grocery.

Sweet Blackberry and Brandy Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2008
WOW! We enjoyed this over Blackberry ripple ice cream one evening and cheesecake the next. SunsetInAZ is right about adding peppercorns. Even if you choose not to add them, you'll enjoy the sauce much more without the seeds, so be sure to strain the sauce after cooking. Thanks for sharing.

Fudge Chunkies

Reviewed: May 25, 2008
For a chocoholic family, this recipe meets the criteria of very very chocolatey. However, after chilling one hour, the dough was quite sticky to work with. When baked, they were a more "cakey" style cookie. I prefer something crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. This cookie is soft all the way, with a tendancy to be crumbly. I still gave this four stars simply because of the uber "chocolatey" flavor. The texture left me feeling that something was missing.

Excellent and quick. For a delicious added addition, try garnishing with the Pico de Gallo from Paula Stotts on this site. Its also good served on a shallow bed of refried beans.

Mini Pumpkin Muffins with Orange Drizzle

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2007
This recipe produces 36 of the most delicious and moist mini muffins I have ever tasted. To accommodate my family's taste for spicy pumpkin and nuts, I doubled the cinnamon and cloves and added 1.5t of pumpkin pie spice and 1 cup of toasted chopped walnuts. I left the glaze off. Yummy! Thanks for sharing.

Fruity Fun Skewers

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2007
Fruit skewers make an excellent addition to parties, BBQs, wedding receptions, brunches, etc. I feel the whole reason for displaying fruit pieces on a skewer is to make a beautiful display. I don't believe they can be visually enjoyed laying flat on a serving platter. Instead, why not try using a watermelon as a "basket" in which to stand the skewers up to be enjoyed. Cut the melon in half, be sure to cut a flat surface on the bottom so it can sit straight, then stick your colorful skewers of fruit into the watermelon rind so that it resembles a basket of flowers. It makes a beautiful and inexpensive centerpiece for your buffet or serving table.

This is a very good recipe. I prefer a little crunch to jello salads, so I added 2/3 cup of diced celery.

Triple Cranberry Salad Mold

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2007
Yummy, this isn't just for Christmas, Kristi Jo. Its great all year round. If fresh cranberries are difficult to find, I just use a can of whole cranberry sauce. To cut the fat calories, you can use 8 ounces of reduced fat sour cream and elminate the whipped topping and cream cheese. Diced celery can be sub'd for the walnuts to maintain a bit of crunchy texture.

Mad Hatter Salad

My family really enjoyed this salad. A great way to get broccoli into the diet. If you don't have ramen packages on hand, you can use chicken buillion granuals and celery or chinese noodles for crunch.

Crispy Coffee Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2007
This is a very basic recipe which can be modified in many ways. I personally like more of a coffee flavor, so I doubled up on the coffee measurement, using powdered espresso rather than instant coffee. The flavor was good, but the dough was very sticky to work with.

Garlic Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2007
If you're expecting an explosion of flavor other than beef, you'll probably be left wanting. This is a very good basic recipe, but for those of us left wanting more flavor to our steaks, marinate the steaks using this recipe, plus two more cloves of crushed garlic, 1 teaspoon garlic powder and 1/2c soy sauce. I use Top Loin (New Yorks) or Sirloins. This is very yummy.

Remoulade Sauce a la New Orleans

Leave out the green olives and salt for a perfect Remoulade that's terrific with any seafood dish. Thanks for sharing. I'm not sure what other reviewers meant by this being a difficult or time-consuming recipe. In my opinion, the recipe went together quickly and perfectly.

Dennie's Fresh Lobster Salad

Reviewed: May 25, 2007
Yummy Lobster Salad! I agreed with a couple other reviewers and used white pepper, a spritz of lemon juice and a bit of celery seed. So as not to take away from the fabulous lobster flavor, I served a tablespoon and a half in puff pastry tartlet shells that I had prebaked for 5 minutes at 350degrees. The tartlets are served at room temp, however the lobster salad is chilled overnight.
