Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2012
The roast came out the most tender of any roast I've made....I wasn't so crazy about the after-taste that lingered. Not sure if I will make this again.

Never Bitter Lemonade

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2011
I gave it a 5 star rating because the salt was an excellent idea to keep it from tasting bitter. I reduced the sugar to 3/4 cup and was still plenty sweet. We like our lemonade a little more lemony so adding more lemon juice was better for us.....great recipe though...I'm glad I tried it!

Grilled Bacon Jalapeno Wraps

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2011
I have also made this recipe with brats squeezed out of the casing, seasoned with a spicy seasoning (we like Rhino seasoning...a locally made seasoning from the Rine brothers...not sure if they offer it on the web), then stuffed inside the pepper before wrapping with bacon as my husband hates cream cheese. Grilling them takes most of the heat out if you've removed the seeds and membrane....oh my! It makes me hungry for these as I type!

Lemon-Butter Snow Peas

Very good recipe. I was on a last-minute search for a dish for supper tonight when I came to this site (which always has delicious dishes). This one was easy, using ingredients you normally always on hand. Would go great with any meat!

Best Fried Green Tomatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2010
Made this just the other night as I pulled all the remaining tomatoes from the vine. I made it as the recipe called for except I fried them in olive oil and cut back on the flour to 1/2 cup and it was plenty. They were crispy on the outside and just done on the inside. Great recipe....I think I ate too many and so did my husband. Thanks!

Guacamole

Wow, My husband (who just found out he likes guacamole) loves this recipe. He said it taste just the same as some I had a certified chef make for me. That was enough proof for me that this is an excellent recipe!

Cajun Style Baked Sweet Potato

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2010
Excellent mixture of spices! They didn't get crisp but I cut them into thin fries and only had to bake them about 40 min. I will definitely make them again as my hubby liked them so well. I only used one large sweet potato (as it's just the two of us) but did not half the spice mixture. Next time will do more as these are healthy, tasty and pretty darn easy to make! Kudos!

Onion Casserole I

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2010
This is my first onion casserole recipe. We loved it! I made it as called for except maybe a few extra crackers to top it. Wonderful flavor and my husband went back for seconds! It's a keeper and will make it for holiday meals too!

Peruvian Quinoa Stew

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2010
Oh my! This was fabulous! Very hearty with just the right spices, tastes, textures and nutrition! If you're looking for recipes that are healthy and satisfying, this is it. You can't beat the nutritional value from the quinoa alone. So versatile as a substitute for rice in breakfast, lunch and supper recipes! Great recipe! Thanks for sharing. This one will definitely become a favorite dish!

Spaghetti Squash I

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2010
I had never tried spaghetti squash either but when I found out I needed to avoid wheat, I thought I'd like to try this. I also was surprised at the 'crunch' of the 'noodles' but still loved the overall dish. I did substitute alot but found this wonderful and very versatile. I used EVOO, sweet onion, lots of garlic, green olives and canned tomatoes (that's all I had), fresh parmesan cheese and the fresh basil. Wow! I went back for seconds which I rarely do, but no guilt here! A great dish and will definitely make again this summer when tomatoes are ripe off the vine!

Tuna Salad with Cranberries

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2010
I was a little hesitant but VERY curious about this recipe as I wanted something different for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised and had half of it gone before I knew it. Yum! You can of course adjust the mayo or use Miracle Whip like I did because that is what I had. Wonderful combination of flavors! I've found a great lunch idea for work that has lots less fat than traditional tuna salads.

Cheesy Acorn Squash

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2010
Loved this recipe! I only had one acorn squash so I had some extra filling. That didn't last long either! My husband gobbled all the extra. Will definitely make again. A feel-good-to-serve and tasty dish! Don't substitute the quinoa. It is soooo heathy for you!

Baked Beef Stew

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2010
Both my husband and I loved this recipe! I only had 1 lb. of meat which was just right for the 2 of us so I cut recipe in half. I did add a little garlic, worchestershire and dried rosemary to the sauce and dredged and browned the meat first. oh yes, I left out the bread. I can't have it and didn't seem like soggy bread was a good fit for us. Will definitely make again!

Lemon Pepper Zucchini

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
I know I'm rating this based on the additions that other readers suggested but....it's really good. I used only 2 tsp. lemon pepper, a little dill weed then add the parmesan cheese about 15 min before finished. Yum!

Baked Potato Soup

The best Potato Soup I have ever eaten! Instead of baking the potatoes, I chopped them and cooked them in the broth for about 15 min while frying the bacon and sauteeing the garlic and onion. Superb!

Mom's Little Smokies

It was okay. Better after many hours of soaking in the sauce. It still carried that ketchup taste. Not sure what I'd do differently. Great in a pinch since most of the ingredients are in your kitchen.
