Baked Falafel

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2011
This recipe has become a staple in our house. Every time I ask my husband what he wants for dinner, his answer is always Falafel. I follow the directions exactly except for skipping the oil when pan frying (just use a non-stick skillet). We eat them with pita, sliced cucumber, sliced tomatoes, lettuce, and tahini. Delicious!!

Rach's Broccoli Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2011
Following advice from other reviewers, I used 1 egg instead of 2, 5 tablespoons of butter instead of 8, and added extra cheese (about 1 1/2 cups instead of 1). I crushed up one sleeve of Ritz crackers, mixed about 1/4 cup into the casserole (to thicken as others said it can be a bit soupy), and spread the remaining ~3/4 cup over the top. I used a 9x13 casserole dish and cooked it for 40 minutes at 350 (to soften the onions - they were still a little crunchy after 30 minutes). It was delicious and it got great reviews from my family (young and old)!! I think I will try this again as the recipe is written (only 1/2 stick of butter though - 1 just seems like too much!) - will update my review if I do.

Grandma's Gingersnap Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2011
First time making Gingersnap Cookies and they were absolutely delicious!! I used unsalted butter instead of shortening but kept everything else as is. These were crispy on the edges and chewy in the middle - perfect! I cooked some a little longer for my husband who likes his crunchy and those were great as well. I got rave reviews from friends and family and have passed the recipe on to friends who also got rave reviews. Great recipe!

Monkey Bread I

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2011
Everyone in my family loves this (old and young)!! Have made it quite a few times. I always leave out the raisins, and use pecans instead of walnuts. Have even tried it with 1/2 cup chocolate chips. It's great any way you make it! I chop the pecans finely and place them in the bundt pan first, dropping the dough on top of the pecans. I flip it over onto a plate right after taking it out of the oven. Great recipe! Very, very good!!

Best Ever Banana Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2009
AMAZING!! Best banana bread I've ever had! I joined allrecipes just to write a review on this recipe. I left out the nuts and added 1 tsp cinnamon. Made this 3 times in 2 weeks and got rave reviews from everyone who tried it! Yum!

Garlic Mashed Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2011
Absolutely delicious!!! Was my first time making mashed potatoes and this recipe did not lead me astray! My family loved them!! I made some small changes - I used 1/4 cup skim milk and 1/4 cup Greek yogurt instead of 1/2 cup skim milk, and added a dollop of cream cheese. Left the skin on the potatoes. The Parmesan cheese really makes the recipe!! Absolutely delicious and they're right - no gravy or butter needed!

Pumpkin Spice Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2011
I found this recipe a while ago and have made it countless times (following the recipe exactly). Yum, yum, yum!!! It comes out so moist and tastes like pumpkin pie in bread form. Absolutely delicious!!! I have had many people ask for the recipe. Have even made this and given it away as Christmas gifts.

Strawberry Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothie

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2011
Very good and filling!! I used skim milk instead of soy milk and did not add the sugar. I've done it with frozen strawberries and then with frozen mixed berries - delicious both ways! I followed another reviewer's suggestion to finely grind the oatmeal before adding everything else. Never would have thought to add oatmeal to a smoothie. Loved it!!

Annie's Lobster Bisque

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2013
Delicious!! My first try at making lobster bisque and it came out great - easy to make, too. I used 3 lobster tails - sauteed them in the onions until onions were translucent, removed tails and set aside. Then I added the tails back in once the milk, broth, and seasonings were added and let them simmer in the bisque for ~10 minutes (used meat thermometer to test - 145 degrees was perfect - thoroughly cooked but very tender). I removed the tails and let the bisque continue to simmer for 5 mores minutes while I removed the shells and cut the lobster into bite-sized chunks. I omitted the cayenne pepper because I do not like spice but think I may add a tiny pinch next time. Will also try shallots instead of white onions next time, too (just because I love shallots). Great recipe as is! Thanks!!

Dump Cake IV

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2011
Very good and very easy to make, but so sweet you can only eat a little bit (and I really love sweet stuff). Family and friends loved this. Great with cool whip or vanilla ice cream!

Shrimp Lemon Pepper Linguini

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2011
Loved this! I used chicken instead of shrimp and it was great. Made it the first time exactly as is and thought it was a bit too peppery for my tastes (my husband loved it though). Made it with less pepper the second time and absolutely loved it. Very refreshing flavor.
