Cindy's Awesome Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2013
Awesome recipe, one bottle of clam juice a little water and the juice from 2 cans was plenty to cover veggies. I added a bit of onion and celery, no other spices are needed. Too bad the Knorr soup mix has changed over the years, I had an older package and a new package and the old one actually had chunks of leeks. Also used fat free half and half and finished with a teaspoon of butter.

Mom's Best Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2012
Used Penzeys' pork chop seasoning and black pepper directly on chops, delicious! For 10 chops (1/2") needed 3 eggs and 1.5 sleeves saltines.

Very good! Added chicken, and lots of black pepper. Just use whatever veggies you have on hand.

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2011
My husband loved this! I made a change as another reader did, using some BBQ sauce in place of brown sugar. Also added chopped fresh garlic with the onions and peppers.

Great! I made two balls and decorated them as pumpkins for halloween. Probably try a snowman at Christmas time. Will make again!

Green Bean Fries

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2011
Makes a lot! Next time I will only make 1/4 to 1/2 lb for 2 people. I did as some others and only cooked for about 30 seconds to 1 minute but I think the published 2 minutes would be better. I used an electric fry pan instead of a deep fryer, it worked great. Will add more seasonings next time.

Baked Buffalo Wings

The best I've ever made! I did as others and cooked at 425 instead and coated in the sauce at the 2nd half of cooking.

Cabbage Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2010
I made the recipe as listed and first left out the sugar and found it to be too tangy, I added 1 t white sugar, 1 pkg equal and 1 T brown sugar, very good! Next time I will just try the brown sugar to taste. I did add more pepper and less salt, as ketchup has a lot of sodium.

Pollo con Nopales (Chicken and Cactus)

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2010
Very good! I also used additional tomatillos and only used 1 jalapeno since I have a tendency to make things too hot for most tastes. I added about 1/4 C chicken broth and 1/4 t ground cumin. Serverd on tortillas with mex blend cheese and something new, Rosa Rita green salsa verde, which had just the right kick. Will make this again!
