Added a little more buttermilk and milk to thin. Best pancakes I have ever had and I really don't like pancakes!

Hamburger Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2012
I have made this soup with chicken broth and the with beef broth. Both were good. I did not do the flour and see no need for it. I add frozen peas and corn. Some times egg noodles, black beans etc. I see no reason not to put mixed veggies in this. It is very good and easy to make. I always brown the burger well in a cast iron pan. I think that is crucial. The dog gets a cup every night on her dry food. It is good for her and cheaper than canned junk dog food.

Bacon Cheddar Jalapeno Poppers

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2012
These are great. I always have a surplus of peppers from my garden so I freeze them. These frozen peppers are perfect for poppers. Easy to cut and work with. I have made these many ways, here are a few opinions I have. I just lay a piece of lean center-cut across the top. Too much bacon (in my opinion) and you will be limited to eating 3 or 4 at most. Even when I wrap bacon around, I have never seen any reason to tooth-pick anything. I bake them cup up at 450F til bacon is desired crispness. Honey and pineapple whipped cream cheese are my favorites.

Stuffed Jalapeno Firecrackers

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2012
To neutralize your hands after handling peppers, clean with any citrus. I always end my salsa with the lime as it is part of the recipe and makes my hands eye safe.

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2011
I have lived in Az 50 years and I love spicy mexican food. But I totally agree with a lot of reviews that 1/2 the heat of this recipe is perfect. It is delicious and when I was reading over the ingredients I thought it a shame to over power them with chili powder. I did everthing exactly, except 1/2 chili powder and cayenne. My wife and I thought it was perfect....way better than Wendy's (as on reviewr stated)

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2011
The wife said that she made it exacly per the recipe. It was hands down the best lasagna I have ever tasted. I do question the tablespoon of salt though. I think a teaspoon is what she put in as we would never put a full tablespoon of salt in anything but brine or something. I highly reccomend and wifey said that it was easy.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2011
I made this as the recipe and it turned out fine. I baked @ 300 and removed from the oven at 55 mins. It was nicely browned and moist and tasty. I can never figure out why others complain that theirs were under cooked. They my need to check their ovens with a thermometer.

Super Al's Cocktail Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2010
I keep a bottle of lemon juice from concentrate in the fridge. I've had it forever. Anyway, that and creamy radish from a bottle and the rest made this delicious sauce just as good all the reviews said. I will never buy one of those silly little jars of cocktail sauce again.

Fish Tacos

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2009
This is one of my favorite recipes but preparing the fish is neither quick or easy. Do your self a favour and buy your breaded fish at Costco (Trident brand). It is good fish and they only sell it at Costco where here in Az. Getr a bag of cole slaw at the store and chop cilantro. It is so quick this way, that I found myself up at 3AM fixing them in 15 mins. honestly, these are awesome!

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2009
I sent this cake to work with my wife for a halloween pot luck they were having . There were many other desserts there and she told me that everybody liked mine the best. A small portion came home and I tried a piece....yummy!! But be warned, I went for seconds and before I got 3 bites into that second piece, I developed a belly ache. This cake is very rich!!! One delicious piece per person is all that is nessecary unless you are a dessert eating champion!! This cake is very chocolaty!!! I did top it with chocolate ganache so maybe that put it over the top..but that got raves as well and very easy to make, just 10 ounces bittersweet choclate and a cup of boiling cream whisked together. Seriously folks, this cake should come with a warning label on it!!

Bacon Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2009
I stuck this in the crock pot for 3 hours adding the dairy and dough last. It turned out great. I suggest less dumplings, double the bacon, add carrots, cellery and peas. It was a big hit!!!

10 stars!! This is the best spaghetti sauce I have ever had and very easy to make. I will never use the store bought sauce again. I must admit that I gently sauteed the meatballs before adding to the sauce. Highly reccomend!!!!

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2009
I loved this recipe, my wife did not. It was so quick and easy so I give it 4 stars. I made it again, but with my own home made salsa and she loved it. Avoid the Pace Picante if you can and use the best salsa you have.

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2009
I made 4 lbs of pork butt in the crock pot for 10 hours, it came out a little too tender. I served it on home made buns and it was delishious! I added some boars head horse radish sauce and that made it awsome!!! I highly reccomend horse radish on the side with this.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2009
These are very good and I am addicted to them. I am trying to eat them till I am sick, but so far I just keep making more and more. I bake late at night when I don't have to share and no one will catch me. I added 1/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips, 1/3 cup butterscotch chips and 1/2 cup roasted pecans. Oh boy!!
