Whole Wheat Drop Biscuits

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2013
I used this recipe for turkey dumpling soup. I didn't have any all purpose flour, so I used all wheat, but I added a couple tablespoons of vital wheat gluten to compensate. I made the dough and dropped it (in medium balls) on top of the soup, and they cooked beautifully. My husband isn't a fan of strong wheat flavor, but these were great and he loved them. Keeper!

Hawaiian Bread II

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2012
This bread was great! I was hoping for a copycat of King's Hawaiian bread, and this was pretty close. I made it in my bread machine on the sweet bread setting, 2 lb, light crust. Next time I'll do rolls. I HALVED the recipe to fit in the machine (I also omitted the first water because I put the yeast in last, and I used 2 eggs to make up for the less liquid). After it was done mixing, I thought the dough looked very wet and small, but I left it alone. When it was done, the loaf had risen to the top! I will definately be making it again. We love the King's bread, but I don't love buying 12 tiny rolls for $5. Now I don't have to!

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2012
Mine came out more like a chili, but it was very good! I suppose I could add more broth to make it soupier. We topped it with Frito corn chips, sour cream, and jack cheese.

Pumpkin-Oat Scones

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2012
Blah. I didn't read the 5 star reviews before I made these -- almost every reviewer added sugar to the mix! I would try this again with sugar in the dough, but this recipe straight is pretty bland, almost salty in taste. The icing only helps a little.

Hidden Cheeseburger

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2011
The meat patties did not stay in patty form as they were frying, so I just piled the loose cooked beef in the middle of the dough and pulled up the edges (like an empanada). It still worked great! VERY tasty!

Easy Ham and Cheese Appetizer Sandwiches

Reviewed: May 5, 2010
These are great for lunch too. The mustard spread is so flavorful that they are still good without the cheese (for those who can't have dairy).
