The title of this blog may not make sense to most of you. But for those of  us with kids playing baseball this spring, I know you can relate. The weekly calender reads like a scratched record with every afternoon repeating the same thing.... baseball practice, baseball practice, game,… MORE

Today is a busy day for the family - school, work, baseball, errands. I am cooking up a batch of spaghetti sauce this morning so we have it ready to go for a quick dinner tonight.  I had ground turkey on hand (got two packs last week -- buy one, get one free. Let me know if you have ideas… MORE

Well, just like the name says, tonight I made Mom's Big Burgers which my family loved. The recipe was really easy and fast - and the grilled burgers tasted great. However what I think my husband loved most was the fact that I cooked with beef and used the lean burger instead of the extra lean.… MORE

Well, if the entire staff at my kids' elementary school is either at McDonald's right after school tomorow or calls in sick Thursday it will be totally my fault. Not sure what came over me, but I volunteered to make the beans and rice for tomorrow's faculty appreciation luncheon. Our staff is… MORE

Another week, another chance to figure out how to get dinner on the table in half hour or less. More often than not, I fail. However, last week I did experience a small victory in the form of a frozen, rock hard, turkey breast in a bag. It first caught my eye as I was wandering aimlessly… MORE

About Me
My love for cooking is a result of my passion for eating. Good food can make any day better. My mother is from France so food has always been a focus of conversation, travels and special occasions. I also am the vice president of brand marketing at I have been lucky enough to be part of Allrecipes for 10 years (since the early days). It has been one of the true pleasures of my life. Seeing all of the really great cooking ideas posted to the site everyday is a total joy.
My favorite things to cook
I love just about anything that combines fresh meat, vegetables and spices/herbs. In the summer, I couldn't live without my barbecue. In the winter, I love pastas, soups and fresh breads. I never know what I am going to cook until I go to my local market. I just buy whatever looks good (or is on sale) and figure out what to make when I get home.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Sunday dinners are a tradition I couldn't live without. I find it really relaxing to spend the afternoon cooking a special meal.
My cooking triumphs
Homemade sushi!
My cooking tragedies
It was a few years ago and I was preparing Thanksgiving dinner for my in-laws at our new house. Little did I realize when I put the turkey in to cook, that the oven thermometer was broken so the temperature was 100 degrees or so less than the dial showed. It took HOURS for the turkey to cook. Thankfully, we all had a good laugh rather than panicking and no one got food poisoning from the dinner. My other tragedy is really any sort of baked good. Cakes, cookies, muffins... you name it and I have either undercooked them, burnt them or fouled them up in some other way...
