Frog Eyed Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2011
This came out great! I was missing our old local Deli's Frog Eye Salad, and found this recipe. I think I might try some of the others' suggestions next time and add the vanilla. I think that might add to it. No complaints though. I tried to make it a bit more healthy by using only fruit that was in juice and not syrup. Also, I don't know if I'll make it in winter ever again... it just had such a light, fruity, summery taste it made me bummed that it's only January, haha. Great treat though for picnics or potlucks. Does make a LOT! Thanks Jannet!

Cashew Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2009
This wasn't terrible, but it was very bland, was was way more of a pain than I'm willing to spend on something that's not AWESOME. The cashews get a little mushy from being in the liquid, and the sauce is really bland, and I'm someone who likes bland. I bet picky kids would like it, but I might think about sauteing the chicken first with some spices, so it has some taste.

Chinese Style Sesame Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
This was terrible. Granted, I couldn't fine "chile paste" so substituted "chili sauce" but it looked NOTHING like the sauce pictured, and tasted NOTHING like any sesame sauce I've ever had at a Chinese restaurant. I couln't even eat it - the smell bothered me too much, but my fiance thought it was just ok and ate some of it. I don't know if I did something wrong (although I was very careful about following the recipe) or it's just not my taste.
