About this Cook
I'm newly married and love to cook for my husband. While he works full-time, I am a full time student working on my Master's in Behavioral Neuroscience and also work on drug addiction research. To relax, we love to have dinner together (that I usually prepare haha). When we first got together, he far surpassed me in his cooking abilities. Four years later, I have him hooked on my cooking and continue to seek out more innovative things to make.
My favorite things to cook
I come from an Asian and Southern background, basically meaning I can cook rice AND potatoes. I love to cook things with an Asian flair because I love the intricacy of layers in ingredients and the plate presentation. My husband is from Texas, and the majority of my family is from Virginia, so while we may eat the same foods, they're prepared totally different. I love to use some of his Tex-Mex influences in the kitchen, too.

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style
The texture of the chicken is spot on. But you really need to watch the roasting time as mine was done in nearly 2.5 hours. The first time I made this recipe I made it exactly as written and it was overly salty for our tastes. The next time I toned down the garlic and onion powder, upped the paprika and time, and it mellowed out the salitness beautifully. Happy cooking!

Penne Pasta with Spinach and Bacon
I'm giving this 4 stars because as written, this was a very bland, very soggy dish. With the addition of oregano, basil, lemon juice, chicken, and some sugar, it turned into a spectacular dinner. I didn't use the diced tomato called for and instead substituted halved grape tomatoes. Also, try adding some diced broccoli to the bacon drippings. Good luck!

Sloppy Joes II
I hated Manwich all my life and REFUSED to serve sloppy joes for dinner. That all changed with this recipe. Amazing, grown up, and irresistable. Highly recommended.
