Tasty Buns

Reviewed: May 31, 2004
You can't go wrong with homemade yeast breads! I used these buns for sloppy joes--excellent! I will definitely make these again.

Peanut Butter Noodles

Reviewed: May 31, 2004
I'll experiment with this one. There was too much peanut butter and it seemed to be missing something, but the whole family enjoyed it. The udon noodles were great!

Never Fail Biscuits

These beautiful biscuits raise so HIGH! I use this recipe almost exclusively now. Slather with butter or jam, or eat them plain!

Mid-Summer Italian Bread Salad

Reviewed: May 9, 2004
Great way to use that loaf of store-bought french bread that didn't get used on day one! A wonderful mix of flavors--bread and salad all in one dish! Very yummy!

Breakfast Rounds

Reviewed: May 9, 2004
Very good. The kids liked these. The brown sugar, butter, cinnamon mixture is a bit too sweet--maybe I put on too much! A fun and different breakfast or snack option.

Avocado Salad

Reviewed: May 9, 2004
How can you go wrong with this "chopped-up-instead-of-stirred-until-smooth version of guacamole"? Great with tortilla chips!

Carrie's Artichoke and Sun-Dried Tomato Pasta

Reviewed: May 9, 2004
This recipe is so delicious that I'm serving it at my next dinner party! I used chicken broth instead of white wine. Simple and divine--tastes like something you'd order at a restaurant.

Honey Roasted Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2004
I love these potatoes. Simple enough for anyday; special enough for company. Absolutely delicious when the dressing starts to caramelize a bit--yum!

Peanut Butter Vegetable Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2004
What a great way to liven up vegetable soup. The kids ate it all up. Can't wait until "soup season" rolls around again....

Marylou's Chicken El Toro

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2004
Chicken cooked in salsa. Yep, that's what it tastes like. I guess I somehow thought this would taste like something different, but it is what it is!

Zucchini Cobbler

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2004
Wow! This really does taste like apple. The filling is great! The crust and topping are very very sweet, though. I wonder what the zucchini filling would taste like in "apple pie".

This was incredible! I had never cooked with barley before, but this was a great recipe. Even my kids loved it. Will definitely make again.

Spanish Rice II

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2004
I'm not a huge Spanish rice fan, but this recipe was really good. Much more flavor than others I've eaten. This is now the tried-and-true favorite!

Cheesy Sweet and Savory Spuds

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2003
These potatoes were delicious! I will cut back a bit on the pepper next time though. I stirred the cheese right in--didn't melt it on top as called for. This recipe is excellent for when you're serving mashed potatoes sans the gravy! They stand well on their own!

Roasted Asparagus and Yellow Pepper Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2003
This is fast becoming one of my favorite salads! A few changes I've made are: slivered almonds instead of sliced (more "substance" there), shredded parmesan cheese instead of grated (the grated cheese kind of "clumped up" when you mixed it in), a longer cooking time (about 18 minutes total) to get the veggies tender AND I cut the dressing recipe in half since it doesn't take much, especially since the veggies are already covered with olive oil. This salad takes some great ingredients and combines them in a way that makes them all BETTER!
