Braised Corned Beef Brisket

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2015
I've been trying for years but have never been able to make a great brisket. I liked how simple this was, so I thought I'd give it a try in the pressure cooker. I sauteed onions and garlic, then seared both sides of the brisket. I poured in about 1/8 cup of cider vinegar to keep it moist and help break it down and then added the spice packet. To make it a meal I added 1/2 small head of cabbage, 4 red potatoes and 1/2 pack of baby carrots. It was cooked on high pressure for 55 minutes, and it came out fantastic. Thanks for sharing! I hope this helps anyone looking for a shortcut method.

Pressure Cooker Red Beans and Sausage

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2013
My entire family gobbled this up! I added some vegetable bouillon to the water and sprinkled red pepper flakes over the top for some heat. This was as good as any of the restaurant versions I've eaten in New Orleans. The pressure cooker makes it a breeze to whip up, and we will definitely be adding this to our regular dinner rotation.

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2012
I've tried hundreds of recipes for pancakes over the years, but none of them come close to this one. I used buttermilk instead of the milk/vinegar mixture, and I added some mini chocolate chips. They were so good they didn't need ANY topping.

Out of this World Turkey Brine

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2011
Best brine recipe ever and can be adapted to any spices you may prefer. My husband would never eat turkey until I started using this brine. Now he looks forward to it all through the holidays.

Pork Chop Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2011
The whole family loved this. I saved a step by pan frying some thin chops and placing everything together to simmer for an hour. I also added some mushrooms for texture. Lovely!

Creme Brulee II

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2011
I had never attempted my own until I found this recipe; now I make it about every week. I add one extra egg yolk as other suggested, and I use 2 cups of lowfat half-and-half. I also prefer using demerara sugar for better flavor and texture. This is truly one of our favorite indulgences, and hubby loves getting to to play with fire when they are ready to scorch. Thanks so much!

Apple Dumplings I

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2011
My aunt always used to make this for family gatherings, and it is a favorite recipe. The only change I make is to half the amount of sugar and add a ton of cinnamon. Thanks for sharing! :)

Marinated Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2010
I made this exactly as written with 5 assorted bone-in chops. It was absolutely perfect! I think using bone-in chops really adds to the flavor and tenderness of the chops. The only thing I like better than this version is grilling them. This is perfect for winter. Thanks for sharing! :)

Fluffy French Toast

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2010
After trying my hand at French Toast for years, I never could get it just right. It was always too soggy and tasted too much like egg. Who knew the secret would be the flour?! This recipe is as good as any restaurant. Thank you so much. My family thinks it's perfect. :)

My daughter wanted lamb chops for her birthday dinner. I was a little skeptical since they were so simple, but what a wonderful surprise. All of us LOVED these and can't wait to make them again. Perfect.

Ham with Vegetables

Easiest meal ever! I use organic ham breakfast steaks over potatoes, carrots, and broccoli. I have tried many vegetable variations and they all come out perfect. I would never have thought something so simple could taste so amazing. Thanks for sharing!

Spicy Pizza Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2008
This is new favorite in our house. I use one pound of hot italian chicken sausage and about a half a pack of turkey pepperoni. I also use tortellini instead of the elbow macaroni to make it a little more filling. Everyone just raves when I make this!

Pseudo Sourdough for the Bread Machine

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2008
Without a doubt, this is the best bread I've ever eaten. My whole family gobbled this bread up in two days. I typically don't care much for real sourdough because I don't like the sweetness. I love the sour flavor from the sour cream, and the texture is just perfect. We'll be making this one a lot!
