Pasta with Kielbasa and Sauerkraut

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2010
My husband doesn't like the sauerkraut so he picks it out. but he won't let me make this without it cause he knows how much flavor it adds. I did modify this quite a a bit because I didn't have dijon mustard, cayenne pepper, bell pepper or white wine the first time I made it. i followed the instructions otherwise, but added a little vinegar, garlic powder, beef boullion cube, and extra parsley. Some say this didn't have enough flavor that is why I added it, but really it would have probably been fine without the additions. Didn't expect to like this one, but loved it! You may have to experiment with it. I have occasionally added too much vinegar and had to add other spices to fix it (such as sugar, salt, pepper, etc.)

Uglies

We love these. I did add a can of green chilis and tomato, and some brown sugar to the mixture. we also used homemade biscuit dough which I think helps.

Chocolate Rocky Road Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2012
I liked the flavor, but would not put nuts in next time. I did add corn flakes to a second batch and that helped them. Also, one marshmallow is not enough use three or four. Otherwise if you can find the formula for cocoa powder instead of choc chips melted it would be much easier.

Extremely easy. Even I couldn't mess it up! Tastes just like the store bought mix we ran out of.

Rice Balls a la Tim

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2011
Even my husband who lived in Italy for 2 years loved these. However, the second time we made them we made little cheese balls in the middle. Certainly added to it, but great without too!

Buttery Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2010
Husband said they were better than his moms! Anyway, like other reviewers said, they don't raise, no matter how long you leave them, but it doesn't matter cause they taste great. My husband wanted them again after we ate a whole pan ourselves. He usually only requests desserts again.

Italian Popcorn

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2010
I made three different snack mixes tonight and found this to be the best one! I wish I made more. I used Parmesan cheese instead of Romano and actually stirred it in the butter mix instead of adding later. I also used garlic powder instead of garlic salt. Because I had read a few reviews that said it wasn't flavorful enough, I added a little more oregano and basil and even lemon pepper to the mixture. I found five cups of popcorn was a little less than the mixture so I added some small pretzels. You may want to use more popcorn or a little less butter to compensate. Overall I really liked this one and wished I had made more.

Lots of Chocolate Cherry Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2012
I don't drink coffee and wasn't about to buy some just for this so I didn't add coffee. As strange as it sounds I substituted candy sprinkles for the coffee (the thicker sprinkles). I also added more chocolate chips instead of adding white chocolate chips, and used cranberries instead of cherries. Perfect texture and great flavor.

Yogurt Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2009
Great recipe. After reading the reviews I was hesitant to try this. The cookies turned out so chewy and stayed chewy. Most of the bad reviews came from changing the ingredients and the few that did not change the recipe and had poor reviews said they preferred a little more flavor. So I added 1/4 c more of each sugar and 1 tsp of cinnamon. The cinnamon added flavor, but I think you could get away with not using it. My husband and I ate all of these in two days! They are a little different than a regular chocolate chip cookie, but so very soft, and once you get past the preconceived idea of a typical chocolate chip cookie you will really like these.

Dishpan Cookies II

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2009
These were great. However, I used 1/2 corn flakes and 1/2 rice crispies (because I was low). I also DID NOT put coconut in them. Everyone at work loved these and they were gone quickly! Perfect chewy texture!

Soft Giant Pretzels

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2009
I also found the pretzels stuck to the paper towels as mentioned below and were a little too much more like rolls than pretzels. Someone else suggested more flour or longer cooking, so take that into consideration. I made smaller balls instead of 8 i ended up making 21 smaller pretzels. We also rolled some of them in melted butter and then cinnamon/sugar mixture. Overall a pretty simple and good recipe.

Not the flavor I was expecting, but a new taste. Definitely will make again, but more of a side dish than a regular meal.

Oat Snack Mix

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2010
This wasn't as good as I hoped, but still pretty good. To be fair, I mistakenly thought I had honey, so I had to substitute with white sugar and karo syrup so it may have been different with honey. Otherwise I used corn flakes and cheerios which i thought worked very well. the corn flakes were especially tasty as they candied up well. I also used a little popcorn as suggested by another user, but found the popcorn didn't work as well so I wouldn't recommend using that. I haven't added cranberries or raisins yet, but will likely do that tomorrow. However even without the berries and raisins it would be just fine.
