Red Wine Braised Short Ribs with Smashed Fall Vegetables

2nd time making this dish. Definitely a keeper. I used 1/2 of a bottle of wine in the dish last year and 3/4 of bottle of wine this year. I seared the ribs and added all of the ingredients to my crock pot. I slowed cooked them for 8 hours.

Chicken Makhani (Indian Butter Chicken)

I agree with some reviewers. I thought it needed something too. Some reviewers suggested coriander, so i added about 3 tablespoons of fresh Cilantro I had on hand. I was really pleased with the results. I like my Indian food at a 5-6 on the spicy scale of 10. I like spicy food, but Indian restaurants have a completely different scale than the rest. Where 10 is really more like a 13 or 14 in my opinion. This recipe, when made as instructed, comes in at a 2 on the spicy scale. I will definitely make it again, and further tweak the recipe.

Special Wild Rice Salad

I thought this was pretty good. I halved the recipe and used a 1 cup of rice. I cut the veggies while the rice cooked. I liked the celery in it. There wasn't enough celery flavor, so I'll dice it next time. I chilled the rice quickly and ate it immediately.

Potato Pancakes II

I used some frozen mashed potatoes left over from thanksgiving. I left out the cheese and added 2 tablespoons of flour. I also made a sauce with a teaspoon of capers, 3 tablespoons of mayo, a teaspoon of dijon mustard and 1/2 teaspoon of red wine vinegar. My parents really enjoyed them!
