Chinese Noodle Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2011
This was great, so easy and quick to cook. Had no problem cooking the noodles, they had the perfect amount of resistance to them.

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
I followed the recipe exactly (but used a blender as I didn't have a mixer). For filling I used strawberry jam and on the top I melted some chocolate and mixed it with chocolate wafer cookies. Everybody absolutely loved it.

Honey Nut Granola

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
Easy and delicious. Try replacing some of the honey with maple syrup and adding a 1/4 cup of cocoa powder.

Loved it, I made this for partner who is not the biggest lamb fan and he absolutely loved it. We will definitely be making this again.

Banana Oat Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2012
I changed a couple of things, I used 1 cup wholemeal flour, 0.5 cup of plain flour. I also used ~1/4 cup brown sugar and it came out plenty sweet and very moist. Delicious, will make again.

Chocolate Chip Cookies Lite

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2009
I was looking for something semi healthy to take to a party and they were a hit. They didn't harden when they cooled which caused them to be more pancake like rather then cookie like, but, a good low fat and sugar recipe.

Pasta e Fagioli II

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2009
Really great recipe! I used about a pound of ground beef instead of ham, and I only had half the amount of tomato juice so I used a can of diced tomatoes. Also added a few drops of Tapatio hot sauce. Next time I'll add a couple more carrots and celery stalks, they are delicious in this soup. Other then that, my partner and I loved it!

Fideo (Mexican Spaghetti)

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2009
Very tasty and flavourful, my partner is half Mexican and he quite enjoyed it. Use a large skillet because the pasta is a pain to mix in a small/medium one (even when halved).

Cajun Red Snapper

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2009
Pretty good recipe, I didn't have a couple of the spices but I added white pepper (which is often used in Cajun recipes). I also cut down on the butter and used canola oil. Great recipe.

Crescent Beef Casserole

Reviewed: May 18, 2009
I really enjoyed this dish. Healthy and satisfying. I added a little cream, onion and garlic powder to the potato mash. I also think next time I make it I'll add some chili flakes to the meat and veggies for a little extra flavour.

Rich Chocolate Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2009
This was a great, easy recipe. I made it without the frosting and added chocolate chips to the batter. Very good, only complain is that it's a bit sugary.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2010
This was a great dish, very tasty and tender. As some of the other reviewers said, I lined a cake tin with aluminium foil and just put all the sauce over the chicken and cooked it covered in the oven on 205C for 35 mins. I also used reduced salt soy sauce and did not have any ginger on hand. The sauce is so good, next time I will serve over rice. Very good recipe, thanks!

Trini Style Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2010
This dish was very good, unique and tasty flavours. I made it with ground chicken and also made my own sazon seasoning. I used pak choy not bok choy, as that's what I had on hand. I was initially anxious about caramelising the sugar, as I'd never done it before, but it was super easy. It adds a very different (and good) flavour to the chicken. Definitely make again, thanks for the recipe.

Crispy Rosemary Chicken and Fries

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2010
This was very tasty. I was worried the chicken would dry out because my oven is fan forced, I covered it for the first 15 minutes and then cooked 45 mins uncovered. It didn't dry out completely, but it wasn't as moist as it should have been. Next time I'll do 30 mins covered and then 30 mins uncovered - then turn on the broiler to crisp it a little more. But the flavours were good and the potato wedges were great.

Salmon With Green Fettuccine

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2011
Liked this a lot, BUT it did not need 1/4 cup of flour! I slowly added it (mixed and tasted) and it thickened up with less than 1/8 cup. I also used fresh salmon that I pan fried in the butter, onions, garlic, dill and pepper. I then added the mushrooms and continued to cook. I just used regular penne pasta and added fresh spinach leaves to the sauce for the last 2 mins of cooking. It was a great dish, even my husband went back for seconds - that's a win in my book.

Maple Ricotta Parfait with Almonds and Plums

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2010
This recipe as written was not particularly good. The plums sauteed in maple syrup and butter was very good, but the ricotta cheese mixed with maple syrup was gritty and not enjoyable to eat. I removed the ricotta and used cream instead (without the syrup). I also shaved some dark chocolate over the top. The revised dish was a hit.
