About this Cook
I live in a rural area of central FL caleed Indian Lake Estates with my Hubby, 7 dogs (poodles & Poms) and 4 rescued cats! I am very active in charity work & church, while trying to reach people for Christ.
My favorite things to cook
Desserts are my favorite things to cook, Grandma Ople's Apple Pie has become my signature pie and favorite with my family and friends. I also enjoy making a good spaghetti or lasagne and my husband loves home-made waffles!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother-in-law's chicken & dumplings (passed down). I am the only one left in the family that has been able to master these. A large variety of Christmas cookies to pass out to friends & family and my mom's lemon meringue pie!
My cooking triumphs
A great chocolate chip cookie!
My cooking tragedies
Too much barley in my beef barley soup. You know how thick that was!

Gramma's Apple Bread Pudding
Best bread pudding I ever had. I made it as written, except I added a little more cinnamon and some pumpkin pie spice, as someone suggested. Next time I would either use cinnamon bread or add triple cinnamon. I would not bother with pumpkin pie spice next time. I did place a pan of water in the oven like I do for cheesecake. It helps to keep things good and moist. I did not make vanilla sauce because I had a very good vanilla ice cream on hand that I melted in the microwave and poured over top of the finished pudding. The pudding baked for 45 min. Everyone @ the church breakfast loved it!

Apple Crisp II
Very sweet and very tasty! I did double the topping and added chopped pecans as someone suggested. It would have been good with or without the pecans.

Health Nut Blueberry Muffins
Delicious! The only change I made was to double the quick cooking oats because i did not have oat bran on hand. I will be making these often. A great source of fiber.
