About this Cook
in culinary school now; my dream is to own an all waffles restaurant :D
My favorite things to cook
baking is fun, but i really like making breakfast. its so versatile and fun and light and easy; i love it!
My favorite family cooking traditions
there is this great recipe we have called "bean stuff"; i'll post it soon. my parents don't really cook, but my aunt and grandma and pop-pop are impressive cooks. baking is my fave by far:its such a science!
My cooking triumphs
spotted brownies, chocolate cake, yin yang cookies, and vegetarian chili or bean stuff. also, i make AMAZING waffles and collect recipes to test out...
My cooking tragedies
cake decorating. frosting does not like me...

Kalacs (Hungarian Cinnamon Swirl Bread)
WOW! that is the best cinnamon bread i've ever eaten! i did use whole wheat flour instead of white- still fabulous. the only problem i had was that it formed a "skin" on the outside while rising, but that was because i left it to rise while i was at work (a/b 3 hours or so). after i punched it down and rolled it out, it was fine though.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes
i don't know if i did something wrong (pretty sure i didn't) or if this is just a sign that i shouldn't be cooking at 330 in the morning, but these were BAD! the first thing i thought when the first batch was done was "Crepes?". seriously, mine turned out white and literally almost as thin as a crepe. the only good thing i can say about these is that they are very light and don't give that "omg i'm gonna die" bloaty feeling that i usually get from pancakes. other than that, not good.
