Perfect Gluten-Free Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2012
Excellent. I used this recipe as-is to make peanut butter cup cookies, which I give as Christmas gifts every year. Even my picky 13-year-old nephew liked them. Finally I get to eat the cookies that I've been making for others.

Cinnamon-Roasted Almonds

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2011
I've made these nuts to give to family members as Christmas gifts twice now. They're a big hit! I just have trouble keeping my husband from eating all of them before I can get them packaged as gifts.

Merritt's Butternut Squash Gratin

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2010
This has become a staple for Christmas dinner since we tried it a few years ago. It's definitely a pricey recipe to prepare (hence, we only do it at Christmas). But it's outstanding.

Sausage Squash Skillet

I wouldn't have thought about these ingredients together. But this was great!

Roasted Okra

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2010
I am not an okra fan (except when it's fried). But when okra came with our CSA subscription, I had to find a recipe for it. This is delicious! I never knew okra could be so good. I was glad to get okra a few more times during our summer CSA.

Sweet Potato Pie I

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2010
I've made sweet potato pies before but thought I'd try improving my recipe. This recipe received such rave reviews that I figured I'd try it. It's good, but if you're from a family of sweet potato pie bakers (as I am), it's nothing to write home about.

Stuffed Acorn Squash

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2010
Excellent! My Both my husband and I liked this recipe. My squash must have been smaller than those called for in the recipe, because I had much more stuffing than I could use. Next time, I'll be sure to spread the brown sugar throughout the cavity of the squash. And it helped to mix the broth and stuffing mix together before putting it in the squash.

Beet, Orange and Apple Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2010
This has become our go-to recipe for the beets that we receive throughout the summer in our weekly farm share. I have never liked beets, but this recipe works. As a shortcut, I usually use a raspberry vinaigrette dressing. I add blue or gorgonzola cheese and either dried blueberries or cranberries. I toss the greens together with the fruit/beet mixture.

Roasted Sweet Potatoes & Onions

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2010
This was good. I used 2 potatoes and 1 medium onion. I reduced the thyme to 1/4 tsp and baked it uncovered for 1 hour. Next time, I'll probably reduce the amount of amaretto; it was slightly over-sweet.

Cream Cheese Pound Cake III

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2008
Excellent! I used the recipe as is, using regular all-purpose flour. It came out moist but light. I'll definitely use this one again.

Sweet Potato Pound Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2008
Just made this one a few hours ago as one of our Christmas desserts. It's wonderful. I modified the recipe just slightly by substituting 1/2 cup brown sugar for part of the white sugar. Also, instead of the orange glaze, I made a maple brown sugar glaze using butter, brown sugar, maple syrup, and half n' half (to smooth it out). Both my husband and I have tasted a small slice and it's incredible. I'll definitely use this recipe again.

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2008
A very good oatmeal cookie recipe. I didn't think it was the best in the world, but I'll definitely use it again.

White Chocolate and Cranberry Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2008
Great recipe. I doubled it to make cookies to give as Christmas gifts. I didn't have any brandy on hand, so I used a dark rum (Myers). Like other reviewers, I thought it came out too sweet. I'll definitely repeat this recipe, but next time I'll cut the sugar.

I made this recipe for my mother's birthday party. That was 6 years ago and my family's still talking about it! It's amazing!
