Hot Apple Cider

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2007
This is outstanding. I used good quality maple syrup and put it in the slow cooker on high for two hours, along with apple or pear peel, whole cloves and cinnamon sticks. And the smell! It felt like the holidays.

Waffles I

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2007
These waffles are a staple at my house. I use whole wheat flour, but add some semi-sweet chocolate chips for the kids, and with a light dab of powdered sugar, it doesn't need syrup. For the adults, I add chopped pecans. Delicious!! The texture is wonderful, and with the bit of salty waffle taste, it goes great with some added sweetness. If you're worried about it being bland, add extra vanilla extract, and have fun with the add-ins.

Meatloaf with Fried Onions and Ranch Seasoning

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2006
My husband who hates meatloaf (his mom made it every week) loves this recipe. Like other reviewers, I used full pkg of Ranch and then put half the fried onions on top of meatloaf with cheddar cheese for last 10 minutes of cooking. Delicious!

Ranch Burgers

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2006
Did have a bit of a meatloafy texture, but that was a bonus for us. Have also made it without the crackers, and then its just like a well-spiced burger. I always add extra ranch seasoning, since we like ranch, and we like our burgers seasoned well.

Beef Bourguignon II

This is a fantastic main dish. Used leeks and shiitake mushrooms in place of the onions and canned mushrooms, and full 2 C. of Merlot. Delicious!

Chicken Tetrazzini for a Crowd

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2005
This is a delicious casserole! Added garlic salt, left out pimento and mushrooms b/c I didn't have any, and used italian cheese blend - homey and creamy without being bland. Topped with chopped red onion and its great!

Oven Roasted Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2005
I cut the potatoes into bite-sized pieces, used italian salad dressing mix like another person suggested, sprinkled with white wine vinegar, and cooked at 400 until the last 10 minutesthen bumped it up to 425. Unbelievably good! My hubby said they were awesome.

Chicken Enchiladas II

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2005
Wonderful! I seasoned chicken tenders with cajun seasoning and then fried with a bit of oil, then cut it in cubes. Used pepper jack cheese instead of cheddar. Absolutely fantastic recipe, and now my staple if I ever need to make a meal for a sick friend/neighbor. Thanks for the recipe!

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: May 23, 2005
I added a tbs of cream cheese - which made it similar to Olive Garden but even better. This is a fantastic, rich alfredo sauce, perfect with grilled garlic shrimp. Very very good.

Easy Lemonade

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2001
I used only lemons and found this to be way too bitter. I read in another recipe that salt might help, but it didn't noticeably improve the taste. Maybe the trick is to use oranges and limes, but I'm not anxious to try this one again.

Caramel Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2001
This has become a weekly favorite - my husband hates pork but loves this recipe. I grill butterflied chops for 6 min and it really makes a difference. I use one stick of butter and 1 green apple (two portions), without the nutmeg. Very tasty!

Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2001
Very very good, and I don't even like feta. Was even better the next day. With this recipe I was able to make one deep dish pie and a regular pie. If you want to make just one pie, definitely halve it.

Fruit Dip V

Tasty but a little too sweet, too much like pudding. Good with tart fruits and berries but too sweet for melons (which is what I was looking for).

Baklava

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2001
This really is fabulous! Much better than at the deli. I didn't use much more than half the nut mixture though. The recipe was a bit unclear as to how to finish the top - I think its 6-8 layers of just dough and butter (no nuts), to give it a beautiful crispy top.

Spinach Mushroom Quiche

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2001
Very tasty. However, had problems getting it to cook through. Knorr's Lemon Herb cream sauce had a bit too much dill for my taste, which was the only lemon herb packet I could find. But really this recipe is very forgiving, could probably use any soup/sauce mix, such as mushroom garlic.
