Donut Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2013
I make this all the time, with a couple of changes due to my dairy allergy. I substitute the butter & milk for Earth Balance Vegan Margarine and Coconut Milk. They turn out divine!

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2013
Great recipe'. I skipped the frosting, and for the brownie I used coconut oil instead of butter. I also had about 1/3 of a cut of mini chocolate chips I needed to get rid of, so I tossed those in too. Yum!!

Sweet and Spicy Almonds

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2013
I made mostly as directed. I let the liquid mixture boil for a minute before adding the almonds, then I kept cooking the liquid/almond mixture over the heat another minute or so to cook out the remaining liquid. I then tossed the hot nuts into the sugar. The sugar became more of a crunchy glaze over the nuts which I liked, but I may let the nuts cool slightly next time & see how that tastes. LOVE this recipe!!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2011
Excellent recipe'! I added chopped candied ginger, and walnuts. OMG, SOOOOOOO GOOD!!!!! That candied ginger made all the difference. I didn't measure, but I probably added about 2-3 Tablespoons (24 serving recipe). The candied ginger I had was mild, but if yours is strong I would use much less.

Fortune Cookies I

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2008
I was looking forward to making these so much but was very disappointed. I made the first batch exactly as indicated but the batter was way too thick. I added a couple of tablespoons of water which fixed the consistency but the taste was still off. My second batch I tried with Vanilla but still a no-go. The third batch I tried with Almond & they still didn't taste like fortune cookies. The batter is way too sweet, I should have cut the sugar in 1/2. I only gave this recipe' one star because no matter how I adapted the recipe' these were just no good cookies. I was very disappointed.
