Swedish Cream Wafers

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2007
Made these slightly smaller than the recipe states. I used white filling and rolled the finished cookie edge in colored edible glitter (the bride's colors) found at craft stores. Makes a beautiful presentation on a bridal cookie table. Even the caterer wanted the recipe!

Wonderful recipe. I added 1 cup coconut and 1 cup chopped pecans. Got alot of compliments. Very light and not too sweet. Definitely a keeper.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2013
Great tasting cornbread recipe. Next time I will decrease the sugar to 1/2 cup. Baked it in a 10 inch preheated cast iron skillet which I coated with butter before I poured in the batter. I baked @ 375 for 23 minutes. Excellent!

Super Bowl Bread Bowls

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2012
To have bowls rather than flat discs, after dividing into 6 portions, roll each out to a 10 inch circle. Grease oven safe bowls on the outside of the bowl with crisco. Turn bowl upside down and form disc around greased outside of bowl. Bake these bowls on a cookie sheet upside down in a 350 degree oven until lightly browned. Take out and cool for about 10 minutes (still upside down). Invert and shake off bowl.

Italian Biscotti

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2012
Very good recipe. For all of you new biscotti bakers who are having problems with sticky unworkable dough... you MUST refrigerate the dough after making it for at least 2-3 hours so that it is workable and so it bakes properly. I have been making these for 30 years and was taught to make these by a lovely Italian immigrant.

Pat's Baked Beans

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2014
Great recipe. I omitted the garbanzo beans and added white canellini beans.I also added a pinch of Chinese 5-spice. It added a great flavor to the beans.

Kielbasa Made Easy

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2013
I used real cranberries. I cooked 1 bag of cranberries, 1 cup sugar,1 cup orange juice,1 cinnamon stick, 3 cloves, and 1 star anise over medium heat until bubbling. Turn to simmer for 15 minutes. Take out cloves and cinnamon stick. Slice 2 lbs of uncooked kielbasa in 1/4" slices. Mix 1/2 bottle of regular barbecue sauce into cranberries and then mix in kielbasa. Bake at 325 for 1 hour or in crockpot on low indefinitely. So much better than canned.

Sopapilla Cheesecake Pie

Reviewed: May 10, 2012
The only thing I don't like in this recipe is the crescent rolls. There is that "processed food aftertaste" which spoils the whole thing. Would much rather have regular cheesecake which is no more complicated to make than this recipe.
