Mediterranean Quinoa Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2013
Great recipe for a summer dinner. Light and satisfying with lots of texture and layers of flavor. Next time I will add a little less lemon juice, as the dressing was a little too citrusy. My very picky six year old really enjoyed it, which is a rarity. Overall, a great salad in which we will do again. Thanks for the recipe.

Fish Tacos with Honey-Cumin Cilantro Slaw and Chipotle Mayo

Reviewed: May 8, 2013
FIVE STAR FISH TACOS! Prepared the recipe exactly as written, and it tasted delicious. ...Perfect heat/spice with a terrific blend of flavors. A little labor intensive to flour, dip, dredge and fry, but well worth the effort. All amounts of honey-cumin sauce, coleslaw and mayo-chipotle sauce fit proportionately with the one pound worth of tilapia. Will make this again! ...Would not change a thing!

Ham and Split Pea Soup Recipe - A Great Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2013
Another excellent CJ recipe. Prepared exactly as described, and my husband and picky six year old loved it. Great flavor and texture, and easy to make. My husband thought it might even taste better with carrots in it.

Turkey Wild Rice Soup II

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2013
Second time trying this and used roasted chicken meat in place of turkey. Used brown rice, and doubled onions, carrots and celery (cooked carrots with onions and celery), and didn't add the slivered almonds. Again, this soup is so flavorful and has become one of our top two soups!

Quick and Easy Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2012
Prepared exactly as written. Very flavorful, simple and will be preparing again. The relish does add a mild spicy element that gives this soup that extra layer of flavor which I happened to like. My husband tried the soup without the relish, and then with the relish. He liked both helpings, but preferred not using the relish and getting the "true" black bean soup taste without that extra spicy flavor. So you decide, ...spice or no spice! Either way, it's all good!

Chef John's Quiche Lorraine

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2012
Made this recipe exactly as stated, and it was perfect. My very picky five year old loved it, as did my whole family. I used an already-made frozen pie crust, and followed Chef John's instructions to a "T". I will be making this again. Thank you again Chef John for another terrific recipe!

Spicy Sausage Ragu

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2012
This has become my new favorite easy pasta dish. My two young daughters and my husband loved it. I used Barilla Marinara sauce for the tomato sauce. That combined with the white wine and heavy cream made for a delicious, but not too heavy cream sauce. I didn't have fresh parsley, so I used 1 tablespoon of dried parsley. I will be making this again, ....very soon. Thanks Chef John for another fantastic dish!

Easy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2009
Excellent with ground turkey too! I sauteed the onion with some chopped garlic in olive oil. While that sauteed, I added milk, egg and 1 T Worchester sauce to breadcrumbs and let absorb. Doubled ketchup to the 2 T brown sugar and 2 T mustard, and cooked loaf exactly one hour. Super moist with a great flavor. This is our family's new meatloaf recipe.
