Best Ever Chocolate Cutout Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2010
These turned out pretty good- really rich and chocolately. However, I did follow others' advice and added a teaspoon of vanilla and an extra egg. I ended up making them a bit thicker as well. Good for bigger stencils but fell apart in any shapes that had littler pieces (like with Rudolph's antlers).

Apple Strudel Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2010
Like other reviewers, I added cinnamon and nutmeg. I also left off the topping. Ended up really well; it tastes like apple pie!

Light Oat Bread

Really nice soft bread. I substituted two cups of wheat flour for all-purpose flour and it was still great

Whole Wheat Banana Nut Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
Decent recipe. Changed a few things. Instead of honey, I used a blend of white and brown sugar (honey isn't really making the bread all that much healthier anyways). For healthy changes, I added more banana, used applesauce instead of oil, and egg whites instead of eggs. I also added extra spices and put a bit of a crumble on top. Turned out pretty tasty.

Mom's Best Pork Chops

Reviewed: May 14, 2009
Awesome recipe that can make usually bland pork chops taste as good as chicken. I used bread crumbs instead of crackers and added a bit of Parmesan to the egg mixture. Plus I put tomato sauce on mine and I could hardly tell the difference between it and Chicken Parmigiana. My roommate had it plain and was so glad I didn't just shake and bake them. Will definitely make again.

Fabulous Homemade Bread

Reviewed: May 12, 2009
This bread is delicious! I cut the recipe down and used just whole wheat/white all purpose flour. It turned out soft and warm and my roommate could not have enough.

Baked Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: May 6, 2009
I have to say first off this chicken was absolutely delicious! It just fell off the bone and was so tender. I did add some extra spices to the rub, 1 and a half cups of broth, and veggies underneath instead of tin foil. I wish the skin had browned a bit on the outside but I think it doesn't do that since the heat of the slow cooker is more moist than if I had done it in the oven. The great thing about it was that there was so much left over (it's only me and my roommate) that I just had to take the bones out of the chicken and add some more broth and I had most of a chicken soup already made for the next day! Will definitely make again.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: May 6, 2009
This recipe was decent but it did not make the most delicious banana bread muffins that I've had. It may have been the whole wheat/white flour mix I used but they came out pretty dry. They have good flavour but I did add vanilla to them.

Warm Apple Buttermilk Custard Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
Very good recipe. I did cut back on the sugar as suggested and accidentally when I was doing the apple part, I added too much butter so I just doubled the amount of apple and halfed the amount of custard. It came out delicious! I definitely will make this recipe again (with my changes)
