About this Cook
I'm a mother to six wonderful children. I work full-time outside the home but nothing interfers with my love of cooking. I really enjoy baking and decorating goodies with my girls. We've just introduced my 3yr old son to decorating cookies and he absolutely loves it too!
My favorite things to cook
My absolute favorite thing to cook is "The World's Best Lasagna" from this site. It gets my family involved and I'm always sure to have a full table when its served, good times! I also like to bake, nothing says home like the warm sweet smells coming from the kitchen. Anything that we can cook, bake, grill as a family (even though chaotic at times) is a favorite to me.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We love the holidays and find so many fun and interesting ideas from this site alone. On Christmas eve we always serve lasagna and decorate sugar cookies.
My cooking triumphs
We like to keep things sweet & simple in the kitchen, we cook as often as we can and as a family when possible. I've never had a huge triumph or tragedy, just a lot of learning experiences and great memories. I guess our triumphs are actually finding humor in our tragedies.

Chocopeanutbanana Smoothie
I made this exactly as written & loved it! I also made one w/vanilla yogurt instead of milk. It was good but not as good as the original. I am also going to try strawberry syrup next time instead of chocolate. I'm sure the original will always be my favorite though.

Lentils And Spinach
We had this as a main dish, served over white rice & it was pretty good! I loved that it was pretty inexpensive & healthy too. I did use 1/2 chicken broth in place of water & Im glad I did. I will make this again, probably as a side dish next time. My husband & daughter said it was great as a main dish.

Southwestern Sausage Drop Biscuits
I really wanted to make these for my husband & son. I didn't have all the ingredients, so I did have to change it up a little. And it still turned out really good. This is definitely a "guys" biscuit! Right out of the oven, these are warm, hearty & delicious! I didn't have any green onions so we did w/out. I didn't have diced tomatoes, but I did have crushed & I just used a little less. I didn't have the zesty hot sausage, so I just used a little red pepper flakes & extra cayenne pepper. I can't say it enough, my son loves these biscuits & I don't think you could go wrong if you made these for teenagers. I cant say that I didn't like them, b/c they are good (its like a whole meal in itself) :). But I would probably go a little less hearty! Still.. great recipe though!!!
