About this Cook
Not alot to tell, really. I am a mother of 2 (HEY BABIES)! I have been cooking for my large family since I was in the 3rd grade. I love to dream up new recipes and try them on my co-workers. Needless to say I am everyone's favorite because my industry is dominated by men. In this small town I have quite a repuatation and I get recipe requests from all over the US because we travel alot in my industry as well.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking whole meals. I am the ONLY person I know who insists on sitting down with my family and cooking for them every night. My co-workers think I am crazy, but that is OK.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My dad was a single father, so as the oldest girl, learning to cook was more like a survival thing! I cooked for the 5 of us everyday, and that was a challenge, as there was not always a whole lot to choose from. We had a garden every year and that was awesome, the struggle made me quite creative in the kitchen.
My cooking triumphs
My first Thanksgiving dinner....every thing was perfect and I was ever so proud. The compliments were awesome.
My cooking tragedies
My first fried chicken. AUGHHH. I was so disappointed, my daddy had spent so much money on that Sunday meal and I botched it. I am still in therapy over that one! HA!

Flank Steak Pinwheels
I really liked this recipe. I followed it to the letter with the exception of 2 things......I didn't cook it as long as it called for because my family likes their steak around medium. In addition, I used fresh baby spinach as well. AWESOME. This is my second attempt....honestly pound your steak and let it marinate. Makes a world of difference!

Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker
The flavor in this recipe is amazing. I personally don't like my pork tenderloin in the slow tends to make it rubbery.

Turkey Giblet Gravy
This recipe is easy and delicious. I usually leave out the hard boiled egg however.
