Cherry Almond Coffeecake
As others have noted, this is a good basic recipe that can be modified to fit what you have in your kitchen! I had sour cream and fresh cherries to use and found this recipe. Instead of canned cherries, I used the fresh cherries I had (pitting them took the most time of all to complete this). I used light sour cream and walnuts, instead of almonds because that's what I had. I also added a 1/2 teaspoon of almond extract in the icing and skipped the dash of oil. As a quick cake, when you don't have time to start from scratch, this is great. It's delicious!

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie
This is definitely the best apple pie I have ever made. I've made this several times and the only change I decided to make was to mix a little cinnamin in directly with the apples (not the sauce). I found that pouring about 3/4 of the sauce on the pie before putting the lattice crust on and then pouring the remaining on and through the lattice is easier. I needed to bake the pie for 10 mins longer then the recipe called for as I really pack in a lot of apples to make a large pie. Everyone thoroughly enjoys this pie and it's better than any bakery or orchard made pie!
