Mini Pumpkin Butterscotch Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2011
i give it 5 stars because they came out AMAZING, but i did have to change a couple of things. i didnt have butter so i used 1/4 cup plain yogurt and 1/4 cup oil in its place and i dont have mini muffin tins so it made about 18 regular sized muffins and i baked them for 20 minutes. i was doubtful of the butterscotch/pumpkin combo but they are delicious and will definitely be a new regular in my house! thanks for a great recipe.

A Good Easy Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2010
not amazing but a good starter recipe if youre new to making chicken on the stove. i listened to other reviews and used fresh onion and garlic. towards the end i added a bit of chicken broth and sprinkled in some flour to make a more gravy like sauce. i definitely suggest doing so to keep it more moist, especially if there will be leftovers.

My Amish Friend's Caramel Corn

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2010
ive been putting this one off for a long time because of the amount of steps (im a lazy chef) but i finally did it and its amazing! i couldnt stop scraping the sauce pan for more remnants of the caramel. it turned out perfectly! i highly recommend doing the paper bag method and 45 minutes at 200 degrees worked well for me. im putting it in baggies mixed with candy corn and candy pumpkins to take to work. also i used non gmo popcorn and organic corn syrup. a little more pricey but worth it to me. thanks!!

Mexican Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2010
we all (including my 2 year old) really enjoyed this for dinner. i made a few alterations: added garlic in with the peppers and onion used one onion instead of 2 used a whole can of corn kidney beans instead of black beans added some chopped cilantro added a spoonful of sour cream at the end topped each bowlful with shredded cheddar cheese i think it will make delicious leftovers (reheated in the stove) and i think i will do what another reviewer suggested and add crumbled tortilla chips to the mix. i love that you can adjust it to whatever you have on hand and its pretty well rounded. thanks for a new staple item!

Jam Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2010
really these are a 3.5 for me. they are better if you think of them as scones as they are kind of heavy. i listened to other reviewers and added vanilla and cinnamon to the wet ingredients and i put the jam in the middle of the muffins. also on half of them i sprinkled a little brown sugar to the top and i think that is a nice touch. they are easy and use basic staple ingredients so i will probably make them again with scones in mind :o)

Dill Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2010
i will never buy dill dip again! the only reason i made it 4 stars and not 5 is becos i didnt follow it exactly. i listened to other reviewers and reduced the mayo by 1/4 cup. also i just did a pinch of sugar and added a little bit of lemon juice. we had it at a super bowl party and brought it with a tray of carrots, celery, and french bread. oh my it was so good! and it went fast! it makes a generous portion so unless its for a big group you will have leftovers. yumm!

Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2010
everyone in my house loved these. i made them for the first time last night and will definitely make more. i followed other reviewers suggestions and did 1/2cup brown sugar and 1/3cup white sugar. i did a little extra banana and 1/2 cup chocolate chips. i also used vanilla yogurt because thats what we had. these are so moist and delicious! they are great plain and would be excellent with some kind of streusel topping. theyd also make perfect cupcakes with chocolate or cinnamon cream cheese frosting! enjoy!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2010
this was really good and easy to make. i followed other reviews and added less powdered sugar than it called for and i followed the directions on the box of pudding for pie filling to make it a little thicker. made it for a game night with friends and it was gone fast. its not what i would make for a more formal gathering but it was perfect for a casual get together. thank you!

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
we made this yesterday and it was exactly what i was hoping for. only thing i changed was we cut the chicken into smaller pieces (mostly for the kids) and added more garlic than it called for and i salted the chicken before dipping. i was afraid the chicken was going to be dry but it wasnt at all. the flavor was very good and the breading was perfect. thanks for a great recipe, i see why so many other reviewers say its a staple entree now

No Bake Cookies V

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
absolute perfection! ive made these 4 times and theyre always perfect! as another reviewer put, dont start the 1 minute timer til its really boiling. otherwise it wont thicken enough and can take forever to set.

Artichoke Spinach Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2009
this is 4 stars cos it needs a little tweaking but it is REALLY good. im glad i read other reviews first and ended up going with many others and cut down to just 1 container sour cream (i still did 2 cream cheeses though). i sauteed garlic in with the butter and added about a half cup of chopped onion as well. i added some pepper and next time i will add either more artichokes or another kind of cheese to the parmesan. i think it would be a little bland if you stick to the recipe. but it is a really good base recipe to change around to fit your preferences, thanks!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2009
i didnt have any chicken so i added a bit more vegetables than it called for and i added two small potatoes and a bit of minced garlic (which i add to everything anyways) and it was amazing! nothing would have made it more perfect for a cold day. it was my first time making a pot pie and i see no need to find another recipe. the gravy mixture would be perfect over biscuits as well! thank you for such an amazing recipe!

Maple Pancakes

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
these were good! not perfect; they didnt get fluffy for us, but they were not rubbery. i added some cinnamon and vanilla and the flavor was great with melted butter and a little bit of maple syrup. i will definitely reuse this recipe.

Southwestern Chicken Barley Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2009
this is a really satisfying soup to make, especially if you dont have much time for prep work. besides cutting the onion and garlic, theres not much else work. i decided not to use chicken since i didnt have any on hand but used 5 garlic cloves and added a can of kidney beans to make it a little heartier. its quite good on its own but i took the advice of other reviewers and added a little cheese and broken tortilla chips and its VERY yummy! this is a good easy keeper soup for those winter days approaching.

Potato Chowder Soup I

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2009
this is definitely my favorite creamy soup i have made. the only reason i gave 4 stars and not 5 is that without a couple additions i think it would be a little bland. i added chopped garlic to the simmering veggies as well as some crushed bay leaves. you could also use chicken broth instead of water and that would kick up the flavor too. this is a really excellent chowder and while its not completely healthy with all the cheese its a great way to get my son to eat carrots and celery (i added more than suggested) sooo good on a cold day, thanks!

Eggplant Parmesan II

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2009
this was really good. we added some fresh basil and loved it. definitely make sure all slices are thin, some were too thick and crunchy. but that was my fault, not the recipes...
