I love horses and own 7 right now on our 80 acre ranch in Idaho. I am married and have 3 sons and I enjoy cooking easy and simple meals with our busy schedule. We raise our own beef and plan to have chickens, turkeys, lamb next year as well as a garden.
My favorite things to cook
Slow cooker, chili, beef stew, Italian foods, breads, desserts and candy for the holidays.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I cook Thanksgiving for the family and also Christmans Eve dinner. I am teaching my sons to enjoy cooking as well.
My cooking triumphs
I learned to make jam last year for the first time and it turned out really great!

Eggy Cheesy ConFusion Casserole
Easy to prepare. I used more eggs and let it cook about 15 minutes longer until it was not runny. Easy to change ingredients if you want different flavors depending on your needs.

Banana Bread - Quick Bread for Machines
I added some cinnamon and pumpkin spice and I am at a higher altitude so I added a little more flour. Worked out perfect, everyone loved it. Also, I use zuchini one time since I had no bananas.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople
Even though I do a lot of cooking and baking, I always stayed away from making pies, mainly because I never had much sucess with them when I was younger. That was until I made this one. I did follow many of the suggestions of the previous cooks and added cinnamon and nutmeg. I used a full top crust not the lattice one. I have 3 sons and my husband at home, the pie disappeard so fast I couldn't believe it. This is a keeper and I will be making some more for Thanksgiving and Christmas this year. Thanks so much for the great recipe and bringing back my desire to try making pies again!
