Chicken Katsu
My ex used to make this for me all the time served on top of sliced cabbage. The trick to really good katsu, is marinating the chicken in mirin for a couple hours beforehand.

Ashley's Chicken Katsu with Tonkatsu Sauce
I usually let my katsu marinate in mirin for a few hours before breading and frying. Gives it a much better flavor. Never even need the sauce.

Beaker's Vegetable Barley Soup
I make 2 batches at a time and bring it to work for my lunch. As it thickens up, it makes for a very good reheated lunch. I also make usually an amish white bread to dip in it.
