About this Cook
I'm not much of a cook but I love baking.
My favorite things to cook
Cookies, cakes, all kinds of dessert, really. :)
My cooking tragedies
When I was about 11, my sister -who was 14- and I decided to bake a cake for her friend. I don't remember how we came up with the recipe but we decorated it with M&M's and we were really excited. To our dismay, when it came out of the oven, it wasn't baked and it was hard as wood. Not edible at all. It was a huge disappointment but at least we had a good laugh.

Basil Chicken and Pasta
I loved this! I tried it with fusilli but made a few changes: I used 2T olive oil instead of butter to make it a bit healthier and only 1 clove garlic because I'm not really a fan. I used twice the amount of parmesan stated in the recipe. Finally, I was disappointed to see that I didn't have any basil so I had to omit that. It was still awesome, though I'm sure it tastes even better with basil. I'm going to try that ASAP. PS: It's not nearly as good when you reheat it so try to eat it all when you first make it! Trust me, it won't be hard. ;)

Eileen's Spicy Gingerbread Men
These are the best! I've made these 3 times in the past month and everyone seems to like them--including my sister who claims to hate ginger. I don't use all of the molasses, though. I add about 2T molasses and use honey for the rest because I don't really like molasses. These cookies are awesome!

Chocolate Chip Pudding Cookies
I tried these with vanilla pudding and everyone liked them but they were crispy and not cake-like like the recipe said. I had to bake them at 400F for about 15 minutes because my oven always takes ages to cook/bake. I also added a little less butter (little more than 1/2 cup) and it turned out great. But pretty crispy. Does anyone know how I can make them softer?
