Cream Filled Cupcakes

Thanks for the inspiration! I have a recipe for a ho ho cake that I used for these cupcakes. Very cute and fun idea! A little messy, but I was expecting that :)

Chicken Katsu

Ok...I changed this recipe ALOT. Not because it was bad, but just to suit my needs. I used chicken drumsticks, which I pan fried until dark and crispy. then I coated with Tonkatsu sauce and baked at 350 for 35 minutes. It was absolutely delicious. Husband loved it. For the sauce I simmered 1/4 cup ketchup, 1/2 cup worchester, 1/4 cup sugar, 1/4 cup soy sauce until reduced slightly. Then I added 1 TB dijon mustard and 1/2 ts ground allspice. Putting this in the review so that I can remember it :) So good!

Cucumber Sunomono

I make a similar marinade for my cucumbers, but I had never thought to add ginger. Thank you so much for this recipe! Also used small seedless cucumbers which made preparing easier. No peeling and seeding :)

Chocolate-Chocolate Chip Bacon Cookies

What a fun and GREAT cookie! I liked that it was just a hint of bacon. I did use sea salt and a little more than it called for to add to the saltiness of the cookie, and I used dark chocolate cocoa powder. Yum!

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

We enjoyed this. Used split chicken breast instead. I didn't have time to marinate this like the recipe called for, but it was still really yummy. I lifted up the skin to add more seasoning to it. Next time I will try to make time to marinate this as the recipe calls for. Very very good.

Caramel Heavenlies

I love these! I just made them, and can't stop nibbling. I used my pizza cutter, and they cut very easily. I think the trick is to wait until they are completely cool....Even though it was so hard to wait! Yummy!!!

French Baguettes

Very crunchy on the outside, but light and chewy on the inside. Yum! We enjoyed this very much. I used a whole egg instead of the yolk b/c I'm lazy. Also when it was baking, I added a pan of water under the bread.

Fluffy Biscuits

These are the best biscuits ever. Husband ate them up. Added a little vinegar to the milk to make it like buttermilk, and brushed the tops with butter after they came out of the oven.

Oatmeal Chip Cookies

Made these last night, and they are all gone! My husband's friends ate every last one. Thanks for the recipe they were awesome! Crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Oh and I used 1/2 shortening 1/2 butter because my cookies have a tendency to turn out thin and crispy.

Brigid's Blackberry Pie

Everyone raved! Best pie ever. Perfect consistency. People kept asking how I got a berry pie to not be runny. Will use this recipe again. I was worried about it coming out too sweet so I only used only 1/2 a cup of sugar. It was perfect! I also used frozen berries because it's November, but I can't wait for summer when I can use fresh. I also ended up having to crank up the oven to 350 after first hour to brown the crust. It ended up baking to close to 2 hours before it was perfect. Brushed the crust with an egg yolk and one TB of water and then sprinkled with sugar. So delicious. Thanks for the recipe

Banana Pancakes I

These were great and so easy! My one year old cleared her tray! And my husband ate it! (He hates pancakes) I sprinkled some chocolate chips on while they were cooking. Yummy! Next time I might not add the sugar and use part wheat flour. Make it a little healthier :)

Simple Whole Wheat Bread

Good! I halved the recipe and used one loaf pan. Also used my bread machine to make the dough and finished in the oven. I just add liquid, yeast, and honey to proof, and then added butter and lastly dry. Came out great! Next time might try 1/2 milk and 1/2 water. Thanks!

Brown Sugar Smokies

Made these for a party, and they were gone in 10 minutes! I used toothpicks on each individually and left them on when served. That way people could easily grab them. It's not much clean up if you line your sheet with aluminum foil. Definitely will make this recipe again :)

Oatmeal and Wheat Flour Blueberry Pancakes

These were great! I used milk with 2 TB of vinegar (sub for buttermilk) instead of soy milk which I never have. I found this recipe to be too salty so I cut back the salt to 1/4 teaspoon. An addition of 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract made this perfect! It made a ton of pancakes which is fine b/c I popped in the freezer for a quick breakfast later. Yummy! I also enjoy using this recipe with different fruits...Oh which I doubled.

My husband loved me tonight :) Thanks for the awesome recipe! I had to make some changes because I didn't have all the ingredients. I used clementines for the zest and juice. Had to use cider vinegar and ground ginger (3 ts). Still great! I added a bit of hot sauce and sesame oil.
