Russian Mushroom and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2012
I love dill but I didnt like this soup. Was some what bland except for over powering taste of dill. I did not garnish with more dill as stated in the directions, I did crumble a little bacon on top. Maybe some sour cream would help or paprika. On a positive note was easy to make and not expensive ingredients Sorry I cant be more positive on the taste.

Easy Rum Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2011
Easy to make. Cooked in a bundt pan about 45 min not 60 as listed in directions. Was not as moist or flavorful as I would wish, if I was to make again I would use a flavored cake mix instead maybe a butter pecan as some one else suggested.

Mushroom Pie

This was very easy to make and yummy. I used a pie shell for bottom and folded down the edges to give a peasant look. Also used half sour cream and half heavy cream. Turned out perfect, thanks for recipe.

Tiramisu Layer Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2009
Very good I doubled Kahlua where called for also I wish I would have added more of the coffee/Kahlua mixture to the layers..I was afraid they were going to be soggy so i held back but needed more. Only negative I found was not enough chocolate flavor for my taste would add a chocolate layer in the middle of cake next time. Hint: any left over frosting ( whipped cream and Kahlua ) tasted fantastic served on top of Kahlua and hot coffee served to guests

No-Bake Peanut Butter Cookies III

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2009
Easy and yummy! always had a hard time making nobakes either over cooked and they came out crumbly dry mess or didnt cook long enough gooey never set up right mess. This recipe works for me for some reason also I didnt prepare wax paper for placing cookies on before i started making and was afraid it would start to get hard in pot if i started rummaging for the wax paper so I threw the whole thing in a 8 x 8 sprayed with PAM pan and let it set up in that...and just cut it like fudge...even easier!

Candy Cane Fudge

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2009
Was extremely easy to make The end result was pretty and festive looking Hardly any was eaten at my party maybe one tenth of the "wreath" I love sugar but I didnt love this fudge was a little over whelming in taste and sweetness and this from a person who likes to lick the frosting beaters. My husband took the rest to work and he said everybody there loved it and was all gone in 15 minutes but he might have just said that to be nice to me..... But was very pretty I put half of the crushed peppermint called for on top for decoration four stars for ease of making how it looks and for the story my husband is telling

Cake Balls

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2009
I loved the fact you can make these ahead of time and freeze and that you can decorate them different so it makes a lovely display. Was a little time consuming baking the cake freezing the balls etc... and for the chocolate covering i just used chocolate chips/vanilla chips/butterscotch chips the kind you use for cookies and added approx. one tsp of shortening for every cup of chips i was melting ( placed about a cup of chips in small glass bowl melted then placed that bowl over another bowl that was filled with a couple cups of water that i had brought to a boil ..the fist bowl sat inside the water bowl but the waterbowl lip kept the chocolate bowl from going all the way down ..this helped keep the chips melted for longer period of time as i dipped the balls ) Was not a hit at my party but was not a miss. Would make again for the potential impact they can have in display and the make ahead value for a dessert. favorite flavor seemed to be strawberry cake with strawberry icing dipped in semi sweet chocolate chips I think next time i would add some of those flavored creamers ...example strawberry cake/icing with a couple amaretto creamers then dip in chocolate
