Absolutely Fabulous Greek/House Dressing

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2013
Many reviews suggested adding a bit of balsamic vinegar. 1st time I made it I followed recipe & we liked it. I did add a wedge of squeezed lemon juice.

Chicken Quesadillas

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2012
I liked this quick and easy meal with a side dish of Mexican rice. The only ingredient change I made was instead of Fajita seasoning I went with Taco, as per other reviews. I chose to assemble mine differently (pie-shaped) - brushed one side of tortilla with EVOO and put in 10" skillet, sprinkled with a bit of cheese, topped with chicken veggie mixture, and then sprinkled with more cheese (cheese to act as glue to hold two tortillas together), an then topped with another tortilla brushed with EVOO. When bottom was golden, I flipped tortilla over to cook until golden. Cut into wedges and served with sour cream sprinkled with sliced green onions. I will make again.

Hamburger Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2012
Thia was good - as per other reviews (needed more flavor), I added a couple tablespoons of worchestershire to ground beef, onion, 2 cloves minced garlic, and shredded carrot mixture, and to the soup mixture added a pinch of nutmeg. Baked uncovered at 300 for over 1 hour, topped with cheese and baked 15 min. I will definitely make this again with my additions.

Easy and Elegant Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2012
I used mostly Panko, plus little bit of Italian crumbs + 1/3 part parm & spices (crushed rosemary, garlic power, onion salt/pep). Double dipped in egg then crumbs, and fried to brown, then in over at 400. Next time consider making a sauce for dipping, either pizza or mushrm

Grilled Asian Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2011
I made the marinade as stated in the recipe, but only used 2 chicken breast. I also added a pinch of chili flakes, an additional glove of garlic, as well as one chopped green onion to marinade. We still found it a bit bland so perhaps next time I make will use more garlic, ginger, chili flakes and green onion in the marinade.

Rick rates 3.5 stars; me 3 stars. Next time use 1/2 t red pepper flakes instead of 1 t. I used the stir-fry sauce that called for 1/2 c soya, 1/2 chick broth, sugar, red pep flakes, rice wine vinegar.

Jeannie's Famous Potato Hamburger Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2010
I halved the recipe, but next time I should make full as it just made enough for me and hubby. I used ground chicken. I also made it all in my cast iron casserole dish to save on dirty pots. I added clove or garlic.

Mom's Ground Beef Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2010
I loved it. I halved recipe using 1 lb. grd. beef and 1 can cream of mushrm soup. I also used about half cup of my cheese sauce. After cooking meat & veg mixture, I removed from pan and made the sauce (soup and cheese sauce), also adding addition ched. cheese and about 1/4 c milk (get sauce thickness the way you like). I put in casserole dish and topped with ched cheese.

Finnish Meatballs (Lihapyorykoita)

Way too much bread crumbs (1 c) in this recipe...meatballs were soggy and we didn't like. Won't make again.

Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich with Garlic Mayo

I didn't care for this recipe....the garlic mayo was too garlicky for me and overall I found it bland. However, my husband also said it was ok. Sorry.

Juicy Roasted Chicken

Rick and I loved this chicken and especially the coating (in a cup mixed generous tablespoon of onion salt, as well as lots of salt and pepper and sprinkled inside and out). Very tastey and juicy.

Chicken and Bacon Shish Kabobs

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2009
This were great! I pre-cooked the bacon a bit. Also, I noticed a lot of reviewers were complaining the bacon was undercooked. A way to fix that is not to push the ingredients on tight, ie leave a tiny bit of space inbetween.

I floured chops with garlic powder, onion powder, S & P. I also added a couple drops of hot sauce to cut down on sweetness (next time add 3-4 drops). Baked 40 min uncovered and half way thru, basted. Very yummy!

Stuffed Shells with Meat Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2009
We loved it! Did make a few changes. I didn't have ingredients to make the sauce so I used store-bought and jazzed it up. I also used fresh spinach and cooked it 2-3 min. in EVOO, chopped garlic and pinch of salt and pepper. Did you know that if you want the nutritional value from spinach that you need to cook it? In the end, I probably added less spinach than called for per suggestions of others. I also topped with grated mozzeralla cheese and broiled last 2-3 minutes to brown. This is now a favorite of ours.

Pralines

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2009
I've never tried Pralines but gave it a go. For my taste, this was way too sweet so I won't make it again. The only change I made was I added a 1/2 tsp. of baking soda (as suggested in a Martha Stewart recipe) which makes it creamier.
