Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2012
I must be missing something. I made the recipe exactly as written and found these to be totally unspectacular. On the "chewy to cakey spectrum" these definitely leaned toward the cakey end and the flavor was nothing to write home about. Not awful, just distinctly average.

Peanut Butter Easter Eggs

Reviewed: May 26, 2010
This was an easy, fun and tasty recipe! Made it with the kids and they loved it and so did everyone who tried them. We drizzled ours with colorful melted chocolate and they were beautiful. The ONLY thing I might do differently is to add a touch of salt to the peanut butter to give it that yummy sweet/salty taste that peanut butter cups have.

Grandma's Egg Custard Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2009
This recipe was too sweet for my taste and the baking temp was too high. I ended up with watery custard and overly brown crust edges. I'll go back to my old recipe.

Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2009
This quiche is very good. I doubled the recipe to have a spare quiche and I'm glad I did. I used 10 oz. fresh spinach, sauteed, for both quiches and subbed sauteed red pepper for the mushrooms since I didn't have any. I put in a bit less cheese, a lot less butter than was called for and one less egg (that was all I had) but it was still delicious. We also used Sargento cheddar and bacon Bistro blend cheese. That little bit of bacon was lovely in this dish! I would definitely make this again.

Brownies II

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2009
This was just fair. It wasn't brownie-like at all; just like thin cake. We wanted to make brownie fudge sundaes but didn't have the ingredients for scratch brownies or a mix. I used a chocolate cake mix instead of the german chocolate that was called for. The kids liked them. My husband and I thought they were just passable. I won't make them again.

Cranberry Pistachio Biscotti

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2008
This was my first attempt at biscotti and it was a cinch! It was easy to make and delicious! You definitely need to wet your hands when handling the dough and you must use parchment paper. I used a lot less pistachio than the recipe called for and chopped them coarsely. It was so good I'm going to make a second batch before Christmas!
