Roasted Brussels Sprouts

This is my favorite way to eat brussels sprouts. It is like eating little garlic wonders of love! I prefer to blanch my brussels sprouts in salted water first for 1-2 minutes and then roast in the oven. I find it cuts the cooking time in half and ensure the brussels sprouts are cooked through. It also helps to eliminate any bitterness. I do the same thing with broccoli and cauliflower.

Homemade Mac and Cheese

This is a great, easy recipe. My suggestion would be to add a hint of ground nutmeg to the roux. It provides the warm, nutty flavor that marries the cheese and the sauce so well together. My husband is a chef and this is one of his "secret" mac and cheese tips!
