About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook cajun food! I also like to grill and make fresh wholesome dishes. I also like to bake, although we try to stay on the healthy side so I try to "limit" my baking.
My favorite family cooking traditions
There is a favorite "make it yourself" pasta dish that my family likes to make. It is a lot of fun and makes you feel like the pasta is custom made to your preference.
My cooking triumphs
Creole and Jambalaya

Taco Seasoning I
This is the best taco seasoning I have tried. I use it for everything, fajitas, chili, tacos (beef and chicken), I absolutely love it!!! I don't add much salt to the mix though to reduce the sodium.

Whole Grain Breakfast Cookies
I used apple sauce instead of the oil and honey instead of agave and it turned out great! I'd like to omit the whole wheat flour entirely so I may try a substitution for it next time. Thanks for the recipe!

Greek Orzo Salad
This was a great recipe. I too made a few adjustments. Like one of the other reviews I replaced the artichokes (marinate and hearts) with 6 tbsp olive oil, 4 tbsp red wine vinegar, 1 tablespoon lemon juice and 2 teaspoon dried oregano. I used pepper instead of lemon pepper and Kalamata olives instead of black olives. I mixed the orzo with the marinate I made and let it sit overnight then added the other ingredients the next morning and let it refrigerate an hour longer. I added the tomatoes and feta right before I served it so it didn't over power the dish or make it soggy.
