About this Cook
I'm married for almost 24 years and have 2 children. My daughter is 21 and lives in the City. She comes home on Sundays for dinner and my 18 year old son still helps empty the fridge and pantry at home. My husband enjoys my cooking. If something doesn't turn out quite right he just says something like " Hmmm don't need to make a recipe card up for that one" LOL
My favorite things to cook
I like to make loads of things and don't really have a favorite. I hesitate to classify myself as EXPERT but according to these specs I guess I am. Normally I would say I'm an ok cook.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love to paint Christmas cookies and colour Easter eggs.
My cooking triumphs
I've baked some pretty fab tortes that look too good to eat. And that amazes me when they look that good. Also, Beef Wellington once turned out just right for guests.
My cooking tragedies
I once cooked a Wild Duck for hours and hours and it just didn't taste right. The Sour Cherry glaze turned out was great on pancakes! LOL

Dave's Mocha Chicken
I usually use this site as a spring board for ideas and this was great. I made skinned thighs and skinon drumsticks.omitted olive oil completely but sprinkled thighs with sesame oil. Added real cocoa and 3 cl minced garlic some grated ginger. Used some good red wine instead of sherry pinch of cayenne.i cooked in roaster basting often and then finished off on barbecue.the sauce I thicken up with corn starch slurry. Oh I added teaspoon instant coffee to my brewed to achieve nice strong taste. Loved the idea Dave thanks! Crowd loved it.

Lebkuchen IV
I thought this recipe was very nice. Thanks for submitting it. My grandmother also made these cookies every year and although hers were a little different I thought these were very comparable. I added a little more flour and they were easy to roll out. Just going to glaze them now with a lemon glaze and then paint them.
