Easy Refrigerator Pickles

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2012
I would say leave out the cloves as some others have suggested. I followed the recipe EXACTLY.. which is the only way you should rate a recipe.. I made two batches, using the exact indgredients and to one batch I added crushed red pepper flakes, a teaspoon. The next time, and there will be a next time, I would leave out the cloves, add garlic, jalapenos and a touch of red pepper flakes. Also I would cut down on the sugar. I'm not into the sweet as much as the savory, but the sweet to offset the heat would be great! Thanks for posting!

Super Sausage Gravy

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2012
Agreed.. too much sausage.. I have found if I use 1/4 of a roll (pound) of HOT sausage, drain the grease, use Ky Kernel flour shaken with milk (slurry), cook slow stirring until thickened.. I usually add a few more grinds of fresh black pepper.

Grandma VanDoren's White Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2011
Okay.. I studied the reviews, but with any thing, it could be the environment, the person cooking, the oven, the ingredients...but I gave it a try anyway. All I can say is.. WONDERFUL!! I have been looking for a great bread recipe.. I have saved a few in my recipe box here, printed many from other websites, well I believe that I found my recipe! I just learned how to make homemade buttermilk biscuits and now yeast bread. This made 3 loaves of bread.. I shared one with my neighbor, we had one for dinner and I have one to munch on tomorrow.. it won't last the week! Thanks for sharing!!

Cheese Garlic Biscuits II

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
Looking at other reviews, I did a full TSP of baking powder, 1/2 cup more cheese. I baked on my Pampered Chef bar pan to prevent sticking, results: wonderful biscuits. My DH said they were better than RL's biscuits... Thanks Marge!

Tortilla Rollups II

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2010
I make something very similar to this recipe, only I add chopped fresh and pickled jalapenos and either Frank's hot sauce or Tobasco. Occasionally I skip the tortillas and serve as a pretzel dip!!
