Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2011
I love this recipe. I got it from a friend about a year ago, and have made it with rave reviews ever since. The only things different I do with it, are use rotisserie chickens from the deli at the grocery store, chopped fine (the chicken's just way better that way than canned, without having to actually cook it yourself), and use Bleu Cheese dressing instead of ranch. Then we layered it instead of mixing it all together in a class dish. Chicken/hot sauce mix on bottom, then layer of cream cheese/dressing mix, then layer of chedder cheese and bake until cheese is melty, and the center is bubbling.

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2009
I got volunteered to send monkey bread for my son's Christmas breakfast tomorrow, so I was trying to find a good recipe instead of buying it already made. I hate the canned biscuit kind, and the only recipe I found from scratch involved a bread machine. So I found this recipe and combined it with the Monkey Bread II recipe on this site. I made a test one last night, and it's almost gone. I can't believe how easy this bread recipe is. It was wonderful, soft and perfect. After following the recipe all the way up to dividing into two loaves before the second rise, I then pull pieces of one loaf and rolled them in cinnamon and brown sugar and butter and dropped them into a bundt pan, let it rise for another 30 minutes then baked it for about 25 minutes. It is excellent. I'm making the second one now, for the class tomorrow. I'm tweaking this one by increasing the sugar and cinnamon, and coating the pan in butter and brown sugar first to make a caramel glaze when I turn it out of the pan. I will be making this bread again, as regular white bread. Forgot to add that I was out of bread flour, so I used all purpose flour and 4 tsp of vital wheat gluten (have no idea why I had this on hand, but glad I did). Also, this was my FIRST time making bread by hand without my bread machine that I can not find since we moved 5 years ago.

Turkey Pot Pie II

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
This is my favorite pot pie recipe. It's so simple. We've made this for years, it works equally well with chicken or beef (just change to cream of mushroom soup, and add a little beef base). My kids, who are very picky love it. I just have to say, when you change a recipe completely, before trying it as written, how in the world can you honestly give it a review??? I love this website, but the reviews drive me nuts, lol. Changing a few small things, because you didn't have something on hand is one thing, but to change the entire recipe, turn it into a mashed potato casserole, then call yourself reviewing a turkey pot pie?? I'm sorry, vent over:)

Beer Butt Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2009
We have made our chicken like this on the grill for YEARS!! It's the only way to grill chicken. We've experimented adding different liquids to the beer, like crab boil, teriyaki, hot sauce or worscestershire(sp?) sauce. It's always good.

Barbeque Pork Two Ways

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2009
I've made this a lot, and it's wonderful! Don't try to slice it until it's done. If it's cooked properly, it will just about fall off the bone on it's on. I also want to say, that if you aren't doing the recipe, why would you rate it at all, let alone rated it sub par? This recipe is for a PORK roast, not boneless skinless chicken breasts. They don't even compare, and can't really be cooked the same. It's NOT the recipe, so how can you review it??? Sorry, had to get that off my chest, lol. Anyway, back to the pork roast... As I was saying, don't shred it until it's done. I also add a little liquid smoke to mine to give it a more bbq flavor.

Big-Batch Butterscotch Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2009
These cookies are incredible. We added a bag of butterscotch chips and about a cup of chopped pecans to the mix for a little something extra. Makes ALOT, and they can't keep their hands off them!

Won Tons

Reviewed: May 20, 2009
I make these all the time for finger food night. I always use fresh crab instead of imitation, and scallions instead of regular onions. We've also made them with bay shrimp instead of crab.
