About this Cook
Busy mom with lots of little girls. Cooking is not necessarily my favorite thing, but somehow, I am a bit addicted to AllRecipes! Enjoy baking - love the decorative aspect of it!
My favorite things to cook
Fave to Eat = Southern soul food - wilted salad, fried catfish, fried okra, tomato gravy homemade rolls, real Texas BBQ, homemade ice cream. Fave to Cook = Party food - cakes, desserts, appetizers, fun finger foods
My favorite family cooking traditions
Green bean salad on Easter!
My cooking triumphs
Fresh Garlic Scape pesto! Yumm! Tastes like summer!
My cooking tragedies
In college, without a candy thermometer, I attempted to cook frosting for a Milky Way cake I'd made for DH. Missed the "soft ball" stage by a mile, and when cake was frosted, it basically melted... filling the inside of the cake domed cover... Had to eat it with a spoon! Looked horrendous - still tasted great!

Plum Clafouti
I enjoy making this easy-peasy little dessert for my family, and have it bake while we eat dinner. Clear the dinner plates, serve with ice cream, and a cup of decaf...Lovely! We finish the whole thing almost every time!

Exquisite Pizza Sauce
This sauce is AMAZING! If I ever were to own a pizzaria - this would be the "house sauce!!" Hubby and I have decided that it's the honey that sets is above and beyond! Lots of ingredients make this looks scary and difficult - it is neither. Easy, and well worth all the little measurements!!

Monkey Bread Muffins
Holy cow, this is good! And super easy!! I added 2 apples from our own tree, cut into 1/4" pieces and mixed into the dough/sugar/cinnamon mixture. Viola! APPLE MONKEYS!! Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and my fam is thrilled!
