Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2009
I followed the directions as listed however it came out a bit dry -- it was still good though, just dry. Will add milk maybe next time.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2009
I used a pressure cooker and would highly recommend it if you are bent for time or want to speed the process up. I started off with putting a dry rub and letting it sit overnight. I used spareribs because its what we already had in the freezer and used a bottle of beer instead of rootbeer. I cooked it in the pressure cooker for about an hour on low heat. It came out tender and juicy. Then stuck it in the oven with some Sweet Baby Ray's! FYI - I definitely won't be using spareribs again because getting all the fat off was a huge hassle. And I don't think I will use beer next time. It gave such a foul odor when it was cooking and you could faintly taste it in the meat. Weird taste. I'll probably try broth and see how that goes. Overall, everyone really enjoyed it~

Homemade Crispy Seasoned French Fries

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2009
These came out perfect - crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. And even though it took about 30 minutes to make roughly 8 servings, the first batch was as crispy as the last.

Maria's Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2009
This came out pretty good. I cooked the beef first, then the veggies. After they were finished I set them aside and combined the ingredients for the sauce. I used rice vinegar instead of the red wine and reduced it to 1/4 cup. The sauce was too watery so I added corn starch and doubled everything so there was enough sauce. Its much easier to prepare the sauce separate for this reason. Once I got the desired taste I combined everything. My family loved it! I will use this again for sure.

Chocolate Chip Pudding Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2009
I made these using chocolate pudding and 3/4 cup butter since I like plumper less spread out cookies...needless to say they came out perfect! I added 1/4 cup of chopped pecans instead of the nuts - just enough to give a hint of nutty flavor. I will definitely be using this recipe again since the variations are endless!

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2008
I made Cheesecake for the first time and I used this recipe. It turned out perfect and was a huge hit on Thanksgiving. :) I followed the recipe exactly as written and also applied everyone's recommended tips (water bath). No cracks or nothing. I didn't have time to wait for the cream cheese to become room temperature so the batter had some lumps but after it baked you couldn't even notice. For Christmas I am going to make a raspberry chocolate variation. We'll see how it turns out!
