Turkey Macaroni Bake

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2009
I made with small egg noodles instead of macaroni because that's what I had on hand. I cooked the noodles for a few minutes before mixing in, based on the reviews I read. I also substituted broccoli for the mushrooms. We liked it and it was a great way to use the leftover turkey!

Orange Glazed Carrots

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2009
I really liked this recipe. I read the others reviews but decided to make it the contributor's way first just to see. And there definitely was too much liquid when I was done. I used a slotted spoon to serve the carrots though, so it wasn't a big issue. I used peeled carrots cut on the diagonal instead of baby carrots, though. They had a great flavor and weren't too sweet which seems to be my usual problem with glazed carrots.

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2009
I liked it but I should have cut them a little thinner. Next time I will also add more cheese sauce to them. I added ham and served it as a main dish, with a salad.

Taco Pies

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2009
I listened to the reviewers who said to cook the pie crust the entire time (instead of half) and it turned out a little too crispy. The shell flaked apart and made it very messy to eat. It was also a little dry. We added lots of sour cream and salsa. My husband and daughter both liked this, and we had leftovers to share with my dad. I will make it again because it has a good taste and was inexpensive for a huge amount of food. I will just make sure it doesn't turn out as dry next time. I also sauteed the onions and mixed them in with the hamburger instead of putting them on top of it.

Fast and Friendly Meatballs

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2009
Good basic meatball recipe. I used ground beef because that's what I had on hand, and it worked fine. I added some seasonings and also grated parmesan before rolling the meatballs. Half in the fridge for tomorrow, half in the freezer. Next time I will double the recipe.

The Best Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2009
I had a hard time getting this bread done in the middle. It could have been me/my oven, but by the time the inside was baked the outside was dry. I might try it again but cover it with foil partway through.

Quick and Easy Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2009
This soup was really easy to make. It did take some time to put together (cooking the chicken, peeling/cutting carrots, celery, onions etc) but it was all simple. I put it more noodles than the recipe called for because I needed to stretch it a little bit. It tasted great and I wouldn't change anything next time.

Easy Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2009
This was the first time I made pancakes without using a mix (I am new to cooking). It was easy and they turned out great. I thought the flavor was so much better than Hungry Jack- I will never use a mix again!

Easy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2008
I sauteed the onions before mixing them in, and I used Three Cheese Bread Crumbs for some flavor. I thought it was good but next time I will use a more lean ground beef so it's less greasy. I also would like the topping a little thicker. But overall, this recipe is a keeper and my husband thought it was great!

Twice Baked Potatoes I

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2008
It was great! I was actually in a hurry and did the potatoes in the microwave for 7 minutes instead of an hour in the oven, then I stuffed them and transferred them to the oven for 15 minutes.
