Watermelon Slush

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2009
I know one thing, when I make it again I won't add the lemon lime soda,it doesn't really taste like watermelon with it in to me.

Herbed Pork Roast and Creamy Mushroom Gravy

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2009
OMG! this was beyond good! I did make a few changes, I used cream of chicken soup and chicken broth instead of water and basil in place of rosemary. Rosemary is just too strong a taste for me. Like I said, just gggggreat!

Shrimp Chowder

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2008
Great! I have been told that this was my best chowder to date but here are the few changes I had to make. Didn't have any chicken broth been cooking a lot! so I used veggie broth, no celery ( my perference) but I used a orange bell pepper with the red, regular whole milk, and salt with the pepper! like I said I've been told it's my best so far to make!

Terrific Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
I have made this recipe AGAIN and it just stays a good chili to make and I love that it adds zucchini because to me that adds something to it or it would be ordinary but... I got the directions right in front of me and it's somewhat confusing,I reread it several times and had my mother read it and nowhere does it say to add the zucc so I just did at the end. I sauteed them in butter then put them in the chili,I don't know why the recipe didn't say to but I did,I still love the chili but I just wanted to say how confusing it was. Thanks for the recipe Big Surprise, whoever you are.

Avocado Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2009
This is my 3rd time making the soup, first time very good, 2nd time, not so good, this time good just not out of the ballpark. This recipe is good but I think it's needs some extra spice, after I ate half a bowl, I added some cayenne pepper, no,didn't taste right so to my next bowl I added garlic powder and cumin, what do you know a hit! Everybody needs to try their own taste so try.

Family Style Italian Chili

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2013
Sorry, the family was really disappointed in this chili. Will not make again, Had to add nearly two cups of beef broth and the whole thing of chili seasoning. It's a good recipe but not for people who love Louisiana chili flavor.

Maple Bacon Pancake

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2010
I thought it was just good but I was told later that it was better than regular pancakes. Did a few changes,I used a monterey jack chees instead, light corn syrup and left out the sugar but included salt. I'm thinking what I can do next.

Creamy Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2009
I was delighted by this recipe,I have whipping cream in my frig and I needed to use some of it and this intriged me,I made it a little differently,I didn't have tarragon so I used garlic powder and I put bacon bits in,no green onions and I really enjoyed it but the more I ate,the more I realized how sweet it is,you need something in there to counterbalance and I think I may try some guacamole tommorow for lunch. Couldn't hurt.

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2009
This was SO good! Only thing I did different,I used pepper jack cheese and I added garlic powder to the mix,I also used melted cheese on top of the enchiladas instead of salsa, other than that....I would be proud to serve this at any luncheon.

Pecan Pie by Reddi-wip®

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
This was a good pie to make, I went a little different with it,I didn't have any molasses or couldn't find any so I used dark waffle syrup. Was told couldn't find any difference, also didn't have a lemon to peel so I didn't use that but I was told the pie was great! I called my mother over to try out the pie for me ( yeah, I made the pie but don't eat pecan pies, I made it for church ). I saw the corners of her mouth come up and she said 'Oh, it's so bad! You just might as well leave this with me'. I knew she was lying through her teeth. So enjoy making this, just don't ask your mother to taste it for you.

Savory Sausage Toad-in-the-Hole

Reviewed: May 22, 2010
This is a good dish, I must admit. First off, I didn't know what the heck dried savory was so I used sausage seasoning. It does taste like sausage link in pancakes so I wonder what ground sausage would be like in this? Good dish to make for a morning brunch.

Ragu® Upside-Down Deep Dish Pizza

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2009
THis is very good! okay,so I made a 'few' changes, used regular Ragu sauce,no broccoli or spinach,(it may be good that way and I may try it someday but not now!) so I used Jimmy Dean Hot sausage, crumbled that up and added pepperoni and used Colby/monteray Jack cheese and added banana peppers,it turned out so good! there's just a handful left.

Sour Cream Apple Pie Deluxe

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
This pie is actually one of the best pies I have ever made. I chopped the apples a little bit bigger than I have before because I feel you don't get quite a bite if you chop them so small. I love the topping but I was just told it would be better if all the sugar was off. Eh, I don't think so. Have fun eating!

Seafood Gumbo

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2010
This is so good, and I was worried about the amount of grease but after you add the shrimp, crabmeat and rice, you really don't taste it. I didn't used white pepper and I didn't crush the bay leaf. I left out celery ( personal taste ) and I used 1/4 green bell pepper and a whole red bell pepper, I used seafood broth, no oysters but I used crab meat and that overpowered the shrimp a bit. I made brown rice to serve over it. It's really more of a effutae than a gumbo but it still makes a good meal.
