Paprika Chicken with Sour Cream Gravy

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2009
I made this for supper about oh,30 minutes ago, it was very good but I do have some things to say about it. To me,you need to double up on the spices, even with the paprika, ground red pepper, other spices, it was just like a piece of fried chicken, well, somewhat better but you still need to double up. The 'gravy' made of cream of chicken & sour cream was fantastic!

Cheeseburger Soup I

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
It's different,I'll say that. I made a few changes,1 cup of chicken broth and 3 cups of beef broth,it just seemed to me to need more liquid. and instead of celery,I used a half of yellow bell pepper,I made it for lunch and was going to freeze the rest because we are having deer steak for supper but I was told 'We'll have that also!' Okay.

Restaurant-Style Hashbrown Casserole

Very good! I made these this morning and it was a awesome breakfast! Only thing I was told is that I should have browned it more on top, maybe next time.

Corn Fritters

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
These were easy to make, not to many are left but I will say that this makes more than a dozen,at least for me but advice! try making them small, the larger they are the longer they take to cook and you wind up burning the outside before you get inside. I forgot to sift so I imagine they would have been even better.

Country Apple Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2009
It was and is a good recipe, easy to make but I don't think that the next time I make them I will cook for 45 minutes,it seemed to come apart on me, I'll do less time next time.

Beef or Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2009
Well, this is a good dish and to be honest,I toned it down because we have some elderly guests over so I only used 1 can of green chilies and oh, I used chicken, this is a okay dish and next time I'll use both cans of chilies. and oh,I followed the directions exactly on the sauce and I got a LOT of sauce left over.

Grandma's Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2009
This was a good soup,I made a few changes,I didn't have any poultry seasoning so I used a chicken bouillon cube, didn't use celery, had a half yellow bell pepper, had 3 cups of homemade chicken broth then used can for the rest and I cut down on the salt! sounded way to much for me but it still tasted too salty and I also put in a capful of liquid smoke. Very good recipe.

Autumn Cheesecake

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2009
I really liked this cheesecake, when I told people what I was making,it was like 'what? apple cheesecake? never heard of that' well, now, they have and it's a winner! I love it! I have just been told next time to make it with the apples folded in the cheese. Might be fun to try that way.

Stuffed Peppers with Turkey and Vegetables

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2009
Hmmm,I really don't know what to think,it's good mind you but...since there is really no instructions on the seasonings,I may have gone a tad almost over. I heard 'Too much italian seasoning but good!'

Chicken and Corn Chili

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2009
I just made this today and oh man! so good!,I didn't think there was enough juice in it either because I really wanted it for leftovers after church tommorow so I added some chicken broth and veggie broth,it really added some spark to it and the mexican style corn I added to it,had chipolte peppers in it so...at first I was like 'Okay' then in the middle of the bowl, the heat likes builds up on you. Wow! this is a great dish!

Apple Cake V

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2009
I just made this a little while ago! and it's great! Very tad on the sweet side,I didn't put the walnuts in but it's still great. The sweetness is STRONG but not over-powering,just almost, well, with so much regular sugar and brown sugar for the glaze,no wonder.

Spicy Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2009
These were okay,I too was scared of a whole tablespoon of cayenne pepper so I used a 1/4,I could have used more for a little more kick. I liked the paprika tho and just made a simple green salad to put it on. Good recipe to keep the kitchen from getting hot.

Easy Mexican Casserole

This was good,I did use taco seasoning,I think it added,I used some petite tomatoes with jalapenos in them. and three cups of crushed chips was enough, really more than enough,I had enough for the pan and to put on top. again,a good recipe.

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2009
Goood chili! okay,I made some changes,I did beef but didn't have any italian sausage so I used ground pork. Only chili peppers I had was serrano and jalepeno so I used serrano, didn't put in hot sauce, didn't want to make it toooo spicy, had orange bell pepper instead and didn't put in any sugar, and it was still GOOD! You try it,you will like it.

Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2009
It was a great recipe. I don't know why it called for oatmeal in the batter, did not taste any inside, and it could have been less on top and I also didn't have chunky applesauce but used regular, came out fine. **UPDATE** I have made this again and I seem to have better reviews about it, I didn't cook it as long, I used a different type of applesauce, just had strawberry/banana kind, used it and didn't put oatmeal on the outside. It does seem to be better!

Chicken and Bacon Shish Kabobs

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
I loved it! it was great,I did a few things different,I didn't have mushrooms, don't like them anyway so I used a green bell pepper and didn't have any honey for the sauce but who missed it? and I didn't have pineapple. You know, anything would work well with this recipe, chunks of onion, other bell peppers, most anything. I bet the next person who reviews on this will love it.
