Bacon Chicken and Dumplings

Okay, this is what I did, I just let my mother make her regular chicken & Dumplings and I just added bacon, I'm like another reviewer, to add corn and all that would make it like dumpling stew so I just did bacon and man! it shot it up a whole different flavor! Doing just that is something I would reccomend!

Pumpkin Bread VI

Did I miss something? Rae didn't put down what temp to put the oven on so I put it at 350 for 60, it was good,not outstanding, I do wish I put walnuts in it was my first thought. A good bread to have b'fast for.

Roasted Red Pepper Lasagna

I LOVE THIS DISH!!! this is my 3rd time making it, tonight I made shortcuts on count of time, I got a jar of roasted red bell peppers,cut down on ingrediants,used less lasagna because I wanted to taste more of the bell peppers and it was great! I always love this because I get tired of meaty lasagna's all the time. I would reccommend to anybody!

Spanish Rice with Bacon

I love this dish! it's so easy to make, I made it for the 2nd time tonight and wasn't dissappointed the only thing I did different was I put the green bell pepper in with the rice and onion,oh yeah,I added a tablespoon of minced garlic,how could you forget the garlic David? hehe. This is a GREAT dish!

Mexican Manicotti

I have fixed this dish before but this time I'm going to put in a review,I didn't have pork sausage tonight, just ground pork that I seasoned with sausage seasoning...eh, do the dish was good. Not great, I'll update when I make it sometime with sausage.

Herbed Pork Roast and Creamy Mushroom Gravy

OMG! this was beyond good! I did make a few changes, I used cream of chicken soup and chicken broth instead of water and basil in place of rosemary. Rosemary is just too strong a taste for me. Like I said, just gggggreat!

Tortilla Soup II

This was SO good!! I just made the dish for lunch and I had to get on! I appreciated the warm feeling the soup gives you...I made a few changes tho',I cubed the chicken into bite size pieces instead of shredding them,I only put in one tablespoon of cilantro or it would have overpowered it in my opion and I put in a bit more liquid than called for but it came out really fine! Go ahead, make it! You'll be glad!

Baked Beef Stew

Made this for lunch today, I got up,chopped the veggies up,only changes were that I made,it called for 4 carrots only had two and half a bag of shredded and added on the liquid! it needed way more liquid than called for but you know what? I popped it in the oven at 7:30,I left for church about 10 until 10, left my mother in charge, she had to put it in the slow cooker and it finally got done, it was a good recipe for the most part but I'm thinking I'm going back to a basic, old fashioned recipe.

Mexican Cucumber Salad

Well,I made this dish for the 2nd time. and next time I will leave out the vinegar of any kind but it is a good dish,oh, I used a zucchini instead of a cucumber. Good!

Cornbread Casserole

I made this for lunch today and to also go with supper,I did a few things different,I just crumpled up some leftover cornbread that I had made from this site but should have crumbled it up finer, and added cream of potato soup, good meal!

Homesteader Cornbread

I did think 2/3 cups sugar was a LOT so I changed it down to 2 tablespoons and it was still sweet but it was ate, I'll tell you that. It did a good job but I think I'll stick to good old country cornbread.

Good recipe but to let everyone know, you can do this in a 2 qt. casserole dish! I've done the same thing before except I added banana peppers. It's easier in a casserole dish,at least for me! anyway,good luck to anybody who makes it.

Smothered Pork Chops

I made these for supper tonight,okay,I adjusted the recipe for 12 chops,the chops tasted fine but the gravy! My mother tasted it and said 'No,does not taste good at all so I just asked her to make some of her own. Much better. Sometimes the old things are better.

Like Lucy says: 'It's so tasty!' hehe! This was good and I did like the taste. I just used a different sauce other than soy because it is so salty but maybe next time I will try soy. Made it with a chicken pasta dish.

Paprika Chicken with Sour Cream Gravy

I made this for supper about oh,30 minutes ago, it was very good but I do have some things to say about it. To me,you need to double up on the spices, even with the paprika,ground red pepper,other spices, it was just like a piece of fried chicken,well,somewhat better but you still need to double up. The 'gravy' made of cream of chicken & sour cream was fantastic!
