Just Me
About this Cook
I'm a Senior at Purdue University. I am a graphic designer and an artist. I am a follower of Jesus Christ. He is my everything!
My favorite things to cook
I love baking mostly. My friends love when I bake. Still working on the cooking part lol. Being in college is fun and adventurous, and I have a ways to go before I'm an expert at cooking!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is from the Big Easy - New Orleans. We cook cajun & creole food, nice and spicy. Jambalaya, gumbo, seafood, pecan pies, beignets! Anything my grandmother makes is a favorite of mine. My parents are great cooks too.
My cooking triumphs
I attempted apple pie and dulce de leche cheesecake for Thanksgiving these last 2 years. Even though I forgot 1/3 of the cream cheese it still tasted delicious!
My cooking tragedies
I wanted to make bruschetta for some friends. Having never used the broiler before, I threw a baguet into the oven and closed the door. A 4-inch flame erupted from my bread. My friend (a guy) screamed (like a girl) as he was stirring a pan on the stove. I scraped the burnt off and made it anyway lol.

Michelle's Soft Sugar Cookies
This is my 2nd time making homemade sugar cookies and they came out delicous! They came out light and fluffy yet crispy enough. My sister and I baked cookies for our family for Christmas and the next day we decorated them! Instead of margarine we used butter and it still worked out well. Awesome recipe for novice cookie bakers!

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies
I found that 1 cup of chopped walnuts were scarce but all the same, they were delicious. Awesome recipe! Loved it.

This is pretty awesome. I made it for my Christmas party and my friends loved it. =) My crust fell apart. I think I needed more than 1/4 cup of butter. Otherwise, everything else turned out great.
