Irish Ginger Snaps

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2009
Replaced the shortening with butter, and cut it down a bit. Next time I'll add more of the seasonings. Came out delicate and tasty.

Spinach and Sun-Dried Tomato Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2009
This was delicious. Used sun-dried tomatoes in oil instead of the dehydrated. Forgot to add the Parmesan, but it didn't even matter! Served it with steak.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies II

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2009
The first time, we used homemade hot chocolate mix instead of cocoa, and they were amazing. I have since run out of that mix, and have not been able to get the same results with commercial hot chocolate mix or with cocoa. Everyone loves them every time though.

Playgroup Granola Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2009
This was amazing, especially after putting them in the fridge for a while. I used mixed dried fruit, almonds, extra raisins, and then applesauce in place of the oil. I think I'll try a little less flour next time to see if it turns out more like commercial granola bars.

Crawfish Etouffee Like Maw-Maw Used to Make

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2009
I added celery and green onions, and a large assortment of spices. Turned out amazingly, even though I didn't have a whole pound of crawfish to use.

Ann's Shrimp Etouffee

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2009
Followed this very loosely. Added green onions and green bell pepper, along with an assortment of spices and sauce. Cooked the rice in the mix -- next time I'll add more water or broth so it comes out more soupy. Very excellent.

Cheesecake Cookie Cups

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2009
The cream cheese flavor came out a little too well, but I was able to hide it with strawberry glaze.

It was ok. I'm not big on peppers so I only ate the shrimp.

I wasn't as big a fan of it because of the chicken, but everyone else LOVED it. There were no leftovers.

Double Tomato Bruschetta

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
It was a huge hit. I didn't haven't sun-dried tomatoes so I just added a little sugar like a previous reviewer did. Everyone loved it. I used Cibatta bread instead of a regular baguette.

Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2008
I liked this and I don't like spinach. I used mozzarella instead of cottage and halved everything in the recipe. I also baked it with a pie crust. Great for leftovers.

Spiced Banana Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2008
This is the best recipe I have used! The banana flavor came through very well (I skimped slightly on the cinnamon), and I put all of the mix in one 2qt pan instead of 2 separate loaves. I added 10 minutes to the bake time bc of this. It turned out perfectly!
