Cranberry Sauce Extraordinaire

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2014
This was the best! So simple. I put everything in the crock pot on low overnight, used my hand blender/immersion blender for a few quick pulses to break up the big chunks in the morning and let it cool. Great by itself and over cream cheese with crackers. Could easily be transferred into canning jars from the crock pot and then processed in a hot water bath if you wanted to can.

Fluffy Pancakes

Bye-Bye Bisquick! Best pancakes ever! So easy to do. I would recommend doubling the recipe. For 2 adults and 3 young kiddos, it barely and sometimes doesn't make enough.

Famous Pork Chops

Best pork chops I've ever made! Used bread crumbs instead of crackers and only 2 eggs. Came out tender, not mushy. Thanks!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2010
I made a couple changes...used Italian seasoning instead of celery seed, one peeled redskin potato instead of celery and a tube of 10 biscuits instead of 2 pie crusts. I rolled 5 biscuits for the bottom and cooked it for 5 minutes and used the other 5 rolled out and cut into strips to do a basic lattice top...only cooked it for 15 minutes since the biscuits on top cooked much faster and let cool for 5-10 minutes before serving. My toddlers loved it!!

Granola Bars III

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2010
Excellent recipe. I use whole wheat flour instead of all purpose and use 1/4c applesauce and 1/4c oil and they turn out great. I make 2 batches on the weekend and they are our breakfast and snack for the week. Original recipe with raisins is the best, our second favorite is with coconut and butterscotch morsels...YUM!! Thanks for sharing.

Potato Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2012
I halved the recipe and used 2 eggs. Made plenty for family of 4 and had leftovers. Will try to make them thinner next time....they were a little thick and therefore a little dense the first time but taste was still good.

Asian Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2012
My 5 year old told me this was the best chicken ever!! I left out the pepper flakes and ginger (don't care for the taste) and just marinated the chicken while I prepared the rest of the meal and it turned out GREAT!! Wonderful flavor.

Mom's Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2012
I quadrupled the recipe for a party of 15 adults and 7 kids with the following changes: Used 2c of noodles instead of 1.5c (for a total of 8c), omitted the baking step and the bread crumb topping. I made this the night before, mixing the cheese sauce and the cooked noodles together, placed it in a crock pot. 2 hours before the party I turned the crock pot on low to heat through and then down to warm once the party started. I only had a small bowl left by the end of the party. I used skim milk, real butter, sharp cheddar cheese and 1/3 less fat store-brand velveeta. Everyone liked it. Thanks for sharing. Update 7/2014: made this again for a party. Quadrupled recipe again. Used 2# elbows, 1 can Campbell's cheddar cheese soup instead of Velveeta, 2c mild cheddar and 2c NY sharp cheddar. It's better than the original.

Pumpkin Pie Pudding

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2013
Tastes just like warm pumpkin pie! My family isn't a big fan of nutmeg, cloves and ginger so I omitted those and just added a little more cinnamon. I also didn't have any bisquick on hand so I used 3/4c flour, 1 tsp baking powder, a shake of salt and approx 3/4 tbsp of butter as a substitute for the bisquick (found that remedy for lack of bisquick online). Cooked perfectly on low for 4 hours. Love using the crock pot! Thanks for sharing.

Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2014
This is a wonderful recipe! I follow it to a T and couldn't be happier. The kiddos even like it and it makes the kitchen smell wonderful. I use a ground venison/pork mixture since I have venison readily available and it comes out great!

Pumpkin Bread IV

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2014
This is amazing! I omit nutmeg and cloves because I am not a fan and double the cinnamon. For a low fat version I substitute pear sauce (or apple sauce) in place of the oil and voila! A healthier version of the best pumpkin bread. It is very moist and not super dense either.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Very good and soft. No need to refrigerate dough or use the sugared fork. I rolled them and left them as is and they came out perfect.
