Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2010
This is a fantastic, basic veggie burger! I have followed the recipe with great results, but also love the versatility! I tend to double the recipe, use red peppers instead of green, use Italian seasoned breadcrumbs, and add a can of corn. It's also good with other veggies mixed in! The amount of breadcrumbs you use will depend on how watery your ingredients are - be sure to have more on hand, if necessary! You can substitute the egg for ground flax-seed mixed with water to make these vegan! Enjoy!

I followed this recipe exactly as stated...the cake balls looked beautiful, but tasted terrible. I was shocked that this recipe received such great reviews...very disappointing.

Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2011
These are so delicious and VERY easy to make!!! I reduced the butter to 3/4 cups and they taste exactly the same (with slightly less fat). I let these bars chill for 15 minutes and then cut them into squares. The next morning, they were very easy to cut and remove from the baking pan. I will definitely make these again! Great recipe!

Mound Bars

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2011
These bars are fantastic! I added a bit of peanut butter to the crust mixture (about 2 TB) and a few TB of peanut butter to the melted chocolate mixture (this keeps it from hardening too quickly without having to add oil or shortening. It also gives a nice peanut butter flavor). After baking the crust, I let it cool and then refrigerated for 15 minutes. This prevented the crust from breaking up when I spread the coconut mixture on top. Also, the coconut mixture becomes very easy to spread after it has warmed a bit. I took the bars out of the oven and spread the coconut mixture more evenly over the crust and then continued baking. I made these for Easter, but my family has already devoured the first batch, so it looks like i'll be making some more!

Pan-Fried Asparagus

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2010
This was delicious! I have made this recipe twice and was very pleased both times! I did find that ten minutes is MUCH too long to cook asparagus unless you like it mushy. 3 minutes of sauteeing seemed to be perfect!

Masala Chai Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2010
These brownies taste great, but are very crumbly and difficult to cut (I gave them 1.5 hours to cool). These would be fantastic served as a brownie sundae! I followed the receipe exactly and received many compliments from my dinner guests.

Bake Sale Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2009
I followed the suggestions of gourmet mommy and was TERRIBLY disappointed! The bars came out rubbery and tasted like play-doh! I kept the crust the same and it was the only part that could have been edible. I will try again following the original recipe.

Absolutely delicious! These taste great and are simple to make! I followed the recipe exactly and think it's simply wonderful! The bars are easy to cut, which is a bonus. I drizzled melted chocolate over the top to make them look a bit fancier.
