About this Cook
I am a mom of three (18, 11, and 5), working as a preschool music teacher and semi-professional photographer. My husband is a window and door installer for a local contractor. I cook ALL THE TIME - it's my only time to relax! My 18 year old (our only girl) is not interested in cooking - nor is the 11 year old - so I am very relieved that the five year old loves being in the kitchen as much as I do. It's a great way to spend some quality time with him!
My favorite things to cook
Truffles, cakes, cookies, specialty desserts, decorated cakes for parties, sushi, any new recipe that looks good!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandmother has always been a wonderful cook, and the family recipes are always handed down - we tend to repeat them for all of our family get-togethers. The family has grown considerably and our family time is less and less, so we cherish each one. Christmas Eve is our favorite - we all bring our favorite family dishes - potluck style!
My cooking triumphs
Chocolate chip heath cookie dough truffles - people ask me for these CONSTANTLY. Maple truffles, as well. I also found an excellent recipe on this site for a coffee cake made with cinnamon and crushed graham crackers - people went WILD for it.
My cooking tragedies
My grandmother's special fudge - to this day it still turns out like chewy soup.

Cream Cheese Mints
These are delicious little bites of heaven; however, they were VERY sticky to work with. Next time I plan to increase the powdered sugar by at least a cup! And I might dip some in chocolate for some excellent chocolate mints! Thanks for the recipe!!!

Easy Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles
Ummm, "Bookmarker" - Not sure why you are rating something you haven't tried. It says right in the description that this is a Taste of Home recipe! And the amount of flour isn't the only change - so is the addition of the heath.

Cooky Cookies
My household doesn't like coconut or nuts (we have a nut allergy), so I left these two ingredients out and threw in 2 cups of mini chocolate chips! Also used Frosted Flakes instead of Corn Flakes (since that's what was in our pantry). Worked GREAT! Everyone loved the surprise of the cereal in the cookies! I had no problem with oiliness at all! They were perfect! Definitely keeping this recipe! Thank you SOOO much!
